Judas is a good example of that, she re-imagined Jesus's twelve disciples as a motorcycle gang. For Born This Way she basically exhausted every metaphor for life and death possible - hatching from an egg, coming out of a coffin, fake pregnancy bumps, dancing out of an inflatable vagina, creating a new alien race, being covered in primordial ooze. But for each one, she put a new spin on it. In Alejandro she is singing "hot like Mexico" in the snow in a latex habit. I personally appreciate that kind of unpredictability and oddness, as opposed to whatever she has been doing for the last few years. You are welcome to disagree though. I agree, Born This Way and Judas were very metaphorical, complex and thoughtful. Still you igonored the first two examples off my post which were LoveGame and Just Dance. Born This Way had all of those thing because over-the-topness was fitting, The Fame and Joanne were just different eras, with simpler easier to understand ideas. CautiousLurker 18,714
Can't say if the song is her best - I love a lot of her music, but the music video for Alejandro is the best one imo... or at least in the top 3 - it is dark and compelling and strange and beautiful - for me, the only other music video that competes with it for the top spot is BTW Men are naturally more dominating, aggressive, and logical thinking because we have balls. Gaga didn't have much artistic freedom at the begining of The Fame era. It was her first album under a huge label. Only after her raise to the fame she managed to impose her full vision.
