Gaga’s “messy” dancing

Over a decade into her career with trauma from a broken hip and fibro, she's just not going to be able to do the same kind of endurance dancing that she's been able to do in the past – and yet, last night, what she's still able to do is remarkable.

And the Super Bowl showed that, with a shorter set, she can still do the same choreo as her dancers while maintaining her vocals (I'm thinking about Born This Way, which sounded to me exactly like it did when she performed it in 2011 at the Grammys).

Some of the things that Gaga does are not always meant to be elegant. They are ugly or weird on purpose.

Not necessarily. There are many things that were consider bad or confusing at one point but are now considered genius (Picasso for example).

NO NO NO

Let's state the facts.

I've been thinking this since the artRAve. Gaga needs to hire a new  choreographer! Richy's work is HIDEOUS. I get Gaga's brand is this alienistic/robotic/weird aesthetic but anyone who knows a little about jazz/modern/hip hop dancing can tell this choreographies are tragic. We know Gaga is no professional dancer but oh man she can deliver some intricate graceful and original choreo (see the LoveGame and the Marry The Night choreos). But she just keep reusing these old-ass choreos, I get they're iconic (Telephone and Bad Romance) but I don't get why she never updates or reinvent them. Also not even her dancers look good doing these dance moves, not even Richy looks good on his YouTube videos. It's like all he does is hands and arms placements with REPETITIVE motifs and basic steps. There is no substance, no originality, no story, no technique behind his work.

The dancing problems since the BTWB have always been cause of Richy's weird-ass chroeos. The guy seems to think random hand movements and strange gestures is good choreo. He's one of the worst modern choreographers...
