giskardsb 12,565
I know that GGD loves complaining about wigs and fashion, but do people remember what Gaga's relationship to fashion is about, particularly in her show costumes and avant garde looks? Enigma isn't a Britney show, Gaga isn't going to design every costume or wig with the sole intention of making herself look beautiful. I know during C2C/ASIB eras she has been dressing conventionally beautiful, but that isn't how she uses her stage or avant garde fashion choices. She'll be picking things that she thinks enhances the mood of the portion that she is wearing it for, and that make her stand out from the dancers and stage mechanics. It feels like a lot of the complaints are just nitpicking details forgetting that costumes and wigs are a form of "drag" for Gaga that are not meant to always fit conventional standards of beauty. Vegas is full of beautiful performers looking like beautiful Barbie dolls. I'm sure that was an esthetic Gaga wanted to avoid. She is still beautiful, just not in the normal expected way. LOVEDRUG 10,735
Thank you! What happened to 'not caring about what others think', she obviously could not care less about how beautiful she looks (even tho she looks stunning) because she wears what makes her feel comfortable and free
davflz 3,293
The issue isn't that she is being avant grade or removing herself from "traditional" beauty, like at all. Many of us LOVE her for being unconventional and "crazy". It's what made her recognizable and create part of her uniqueness in the mainstream. More than anything I've seen a **** ton of people the last few years during C2C, Joanne, ASIB etc. specifically criticize her for leaving the "gaga-shtick" behind and becoming "boring" (not my opinion but it's what I've heard a lot). It's more so that the entire aesthetic of Enigma just doesn't feel very exciting or fresh for the most part. In comparison to concert looks from ARTPOP, BTW, or The Monster Ball it just isn't very impressive.

Miel 15,009
@giskardsb your point is valid, and in the broader context I generally agree. But, and this is just my personal opinion, I don't think this could be applied to all of the Enigma outfits. Some of them are just cheap and kind of ugly, unfortunately. I could see the justification for some of the outfits being practicality and freedom of movement (that purple outfit looks very comfortable). 3 points in and ready for more
SilkSpectre 114
Thank you I’ve been waiting for someone to say this! People are acting like she’s never had a performance outfit that was meant for a purpose other than just looking ‘hot’ or beautiful or fashionable when she’s had loads. People always find a costume or two to bitch about with every tour and she can’t win whether she’s dressing classic, Avant garde, sexy, kooky etc there will always be fans that wish she was dressed the way *they* want her to dress for the whole show rather than just appreciating her vision whether it’s their taste or not. There’s been outfits on previous tours that I personally don’t get what she saw in them but it’s never ruined anything for me. Even though I love fashion and seeing what she wears I’m more focused on the performance itself than what she’s wearing
Oriane 21,119
People think the outfits were bad ? I thought she was gorgeous. The only GGD member who can read / Credits to Celloo Deng for the profile pic!
