The Negativity (about Enigma)

While there are reasonable opinions and underwhelmed monsters (including myself to an extent) I feel we are being a little to harsh on Gaga. Going in I think we were all expecting the monster ball/btw ball/ artRAVE revamped type of show. After watching it I was first disappointed by the lack of “Gaga” there was but I l realized that 1) this was the first show. IN the past she has changed hair/makeup/costumes and the set list around numbers of times. 2) I realized that this is not a “Tour” for an album made for her fans. It’s a residency in Vegas (a tourist attraction) and we are not gonna receive another monster ball in a theater sized venue or without a real album to connect to the fans more with new music. 3) I honestly think that the show will get better as time goes on. I am now appreciating it more after understanding the storyline (although it’s a little messy) and I am still looking forward to going next June. Hopefully she will change the songs out each night to make it fresh but we will have to see. Maybe lg6 will be added later next year who knows. Just remember that Gaga is an evolved artist and isn’t the same person she was 10 years ago. That’s all I have to say

I think it's a sad world we live in when people need the visual stimulation because they are incapable of living in the moment and enjoying the atmosphere and the music.

The show was described as an odyssey of her hits. So why are people surprised when she delivered exactly that?

Couldn't say it better.

The girl is a killer vocalist, but that doesn't matter, right? For some people that's irrelevant because they want just visuals, stunts, props, choreo, concept, theatrics, looks, stage design... oh, wait! she did serve those too!

"YOU USED TO BE SO KIND, I NEVER KNEW YOU HAD SUCH A DIRRTY MIND".

Girl she literally has chronic pain and has to cancel multiple tours because of it, not a difficult concept

She's been doing it since day one lol. Everyone does it. Usually performers are just more subtle about it :rip: Once more, think DITD and SHICD at the MB 2.0 or HML at BTWB

I think the show was awesome. I just have one point and that is that I think Million Reasons should've been in the jazz/piano show. The song kinda caused the energy to fade

Confessions Tour, MDNA Tour, Mrs. Carter :rip:

Haven't seen the two first ones, but saw both the first and the second version of Mrs. Carter. I liked the first version the most, but no way Mrs. Carter Tour is better than Gaga's tours

I'm watching the videos over and over again and I think it's marvelous truly! Oh my god.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

Also, I think lots of people are critical (me included), because of the fact that this show was so hyped up by her people

Spoiler

(not that this doesn't usually happen though, and I know a lot of it is just promo talk + they can't really say "it's gonna be less interesting than her tours, but come anyway)

and made it look like it was gonna be even better than her 'normal' tours.

Guess a part of me can also now be lucky like "now it isn't that bad that I may not see the Vegas show live, because it's not on the same level as her tours".

Some of my opinions on the show can still change, given this was just opening night and considering this, it still looked like it was rad.
(But some of those outfits and that wig need to go nevertheless though :huntyga: + to me the neon theme feels so outdated)

I was SO confused by the storyline and execution when I was watching the live stream yesterday, but after watching YouTube videos this morning, it all makes so much more sense plot wise and aesthetic wise.

not saying people are doing this intentionally, but many of the people that can't afford to find a way to the show are going to be pre-disposed psychologically to find reasons to justify why they wouldn't want to go anyway.

yeah, this crossed my mind immediately as well and tried to be as 'objective' as possible about it, about what I'm feeling.

She just gets overhyped a lot, wether it be because of her and her team, or other people

The show is still miles above other shows (though Piece of Me is amazing too)

First of all, if you weren’t there I don’t see how you can hate it so much lmao.m

The message of the show is that she needs to evolve and change in order to find herself, and be truly happy and satisfied. She literally made a Vegas show to the drag people, like in this thread and website, who always complaining and wanting her to go back to old Gaga because they’re unhappy. But she’s saying that it makes her unhappy, and that she has to change.

Yeah that wig was disgusting and somethings were messy, but liddos should stop for a sec and think about that!

who will love me when the night is over

I am disappointed in the show and it's not wrong to say that. My expectations were really high considering how it was hyped for months (people were saying it would change Vegas, that there would be holograms, robots, and next level technology). But there wasn't any of this. There was instead a few giant screens, fire effects, and some cheap robot thingy that you can easily tell were controlled by people. Like the Monsterball had the Fame Monster during Paparazzi and that was ICONIC and cool even though you can tell it was controlled by people.

Also, the outfits were so lame. The Born This Way Ball had the best costumes and so did ArtRave. There is no creativity here at all.

My biggest gripe, and you have mentioned this as well, is that the songs sound exactly the same. They have been sounding the same for the past 10 years. She might remix them a little by adding a rock sound to them but it's really nothing special. And I will mention Madonna (Whether you like it or not) because she remixes all her songs when she's on a tour and she changes up the choreography as well. In Born This Way the dancers even wore the same outfits.... like come on!!!

I know this is controversial but it needs to be said. Why should we be blind to mediocrity just because of we stan for Gaga? I am sorry but I won't pay to see a rehash of past sounds with no remixes or choreography. I was expecting a lot. I know a lot of people on GGD are saying this show is for the general public and that its meant to show people her original songs, but personally... I feel like she could have changed it up a lot while still appealing to both the GP and LM.

Also, people saying they are upset at monsters for talking negatively about this.... bye. This show was below average, stop lying to yourself. If Madonna, Katy or Halsey did something, there would be nonstop threads of how bad it is. Be objective and neutral for once and stop being so blind by everything Gaga does.

I will always love Gaga for what she did for LGBTQ people, her fans and her kindness and hardworking spirit but I will have to stop taking her so seriously until she does something better.
