In fact Toronto has one of the longest commute times in the world because people are moving to cities over an hour away for affordability issues and commuting to Toronto I love Toronto and all but I've concluded if I want a house and family I have no future here that's why we have plans to pack and go My grandparents 110 year old house in Toronto is valued at over $1.2 Million. I just can't Of course in suburbs say in Brampton where I live a nice house is more like $700,000 but that's still too much I stayed in Mississauga for work but when I wanted to go to Toronto, the traffic was very intense and we did more than 1 hour to arrive. However, the transportation seemed very effective and well-planned during my visit. Those prices are crazy damn, the salaries should be really good, do they do 20+ years of loans? Where do u live now? And yes the max amortization allowed is 25 years (it used to be 35 but the government tightened it to keep housing market from overheating)

You can live fairly decent anywhere but there is always the "upper-class" neighbourhood. For 700k CAD you can get a mansion here in my city: 4 bedrooms each with its closet and private shower, parking for 3 cars, kitchen, etc. But in Mexico City, the smallest of the modern appartments can go for that price.
