What if Lady Gaga Released "The Edge of Glory" (TEOG) in late 2011?

Note: I not saying the TEOG under performed because it obviously didn't.

I was just thinking about this recently because looking at other popular songs of the time, "We Found Love", "The One That Got Away", etc. I feel like The Edge of Glory would have fit in nicely. What are your thoughts?

I mean it was a Summer/Fall Hit, any later and it'd have gotten the boot. Marry The Night, one of my favorite songs, was short-cut because of the Christmas season, so imo it would have been less successful if they waited more than 2 months.

Honestly she should have released it as the lead in early 2011, followed a month after by BTW (single) and the album another month after that

I like this idea a lot, but I feel like BTW was the perfect way to kick off the BTW era, not necessarily because it was title track but because it embodies the theme of love and pride that was such a big part of the album/ era. I could see TEOG as a second single though.

TEOG is one of the highest quality Gaga songs, it deserved better

if it would have been released instead of Judas, BTW era would have been so much diferent

VOLANTIS

It was honestly the perfect second single we deserved. Kind of like the sultry calm after the beautiful storm Born This Way (single) was.
