I definitely do not want another failed attempt at capturing the sound of Ray of Light. I know its her most critically acclaimed or whatever but to me that album is the least authentic Madonna album. :messga:

I have the opposite perspective than you :sis: Ray Of Light isn’t even my favorite album of hers, but I will admit that it’s her at her best, it’s what she’s a natural at, and a lot of other albums like Hard Candy (still full of bops though), MDNA, or Confessions seemed almost try-hard to me.

Just curious, what is your opinion on the matter? I’ll explain more when I have time later

Facts to you can be truth to another. I didnt realize you rule the world. I know I didnt vote for you.   :reductive:

Rebel Heart is uneven and too long but there are good moments.

I loved the little Fiona Apple reference, tbh. :)

Thank God. Maybe we can have, finally, a proper new Madonna reinvention.

But come to think of it, Madonna's being judged lately because of such stupid things like armpits and grills, or because of inevitable things like getting older every day (just like everyone else), or because of her "ugly" social media pics in a world obsessed with perfect illusions, stuff like that. People just seems to like being shitty when it comes to her. This just shows how different celebrities are perceived right now, what a true legacy means nowadays, and what artists are allowed to do in their life and art.

She wanted to do the whole Black Madonna stuff? In the 90's, it wouldn't have been scrapped at all, it would be even genius maybe. We're now offended by everything, I think this generation is killing freedom of speech one cultural field at a time.

I miss when pop scene was all about pushing boundaries, now it's all politically correct and is getting more and more boring every second. Anyways, I hope this is a good think for her and her MASSIVE creativity. The queen's the queen.

Thank you for that! You said everything that had to be said

Fiona is one of my favorite 90's singer-songwriters of all time. Tori Amos, Liz Phair, Fiona Apple, Alanis Morissette, etc. It's fun to find another fan, actually :) . Happy holidays, That J. (Sorry about my English)

Your english is perfect!  My two fave albums are "The Idler Wheel" by Fiona and "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" by Alanis...

We would be best friends. Haha

We totally should. "Junkie" is my favorite album of ALL TIME. "The Idler Wheel" is so important to me too, more than any other Fiona album. How can we be friends in this forum? I truly don't understand how this works, ahah.

Ahhhh truth it IS on topic in a way.  Its so rare to find people that love SFIL more than JLP but I sure do.  Its deeper and it just always made sense to me.

THIS.

Junkie just speaks to me more. The lyrics are more thoughtful and zen, especially Thank U, That I Would Be Good, and Your Congratulations. Also love No Pressure Over Cappuccino which was on the following MTV Live Album!

My absolute FAVE is "Joining You"...I was that guy that was called once to have to be there for someone elses meltdown so I relate to each syllable of that song. Add "Uninvited" to the album and u have a classic. Someone asked me once what that song means....I said "if you have to ask, you wouldnt get it" lol

I am very excited that we're heading into her new album era, and I will happily and joyfully be listening to both Madonna and Gaga's albums that drop next year :huntyga: completely unbothered. These queens will rule music even if their fans have to be so immature.

YESss!  Me as well! I cannot wait for both albums. I will be thriving next year. Also breaking the bank trying to buy all these concert tickets 😅. Can I just say I love your profile pic. that photoshoot is beautiful!

The only ones that "dragged" her were on fan forums only a handful of people read so that didnt hurt her at all. Just because the same 20 people make fun of her here and elsewhere doesnt mean anyone else noticed.

I've heard to expect the unexpected this time around and that she will transform her image like she used to do which I think is an awesome idea.

Very excited!!

I am holding you up on that statement! I desperately wnat a reinvention from her. She has to do it! It has been like 10 years 😩😭
