Conditions you want Gaga to make on her next Recording Contract

One her contract ends with Interscope. I’m pretty much sure labels are going to bid for her. Cause that’s... Lady fking Gaga.

So i think she’d be in the same position as Taylor Swift where her historic record deal included the distribution of Universal’s streaming royalties to each labes and onto artists eventually, cause unlike signing new artists, Labels trying to get Icons sign to them will give them as much freedom regarding terms and conditions they would want in their contract.

So what do you want Gaga to ask once these labels try to grab her into their companies?

I would personally want.

1. Freedom to choose her own singles and how many singles she wants, in an era/album cycle. (I.e. her wish during the Born This Way era of having 10 singles)

2. Total Control of an Album’s sound and creative direction (So that same mistakes Interscope made during ARTPOP would not happen again, they tried to change so many aspects to the point where just got lost and didn’t even know what the album meant anymore)

3. Give any amount of budget needed for Promo, performance productions, and music videos. (She spent millions of her own money with the G.U.Y. video just for the world to ignore it, our poor girl. She needs to full financial backup for her visions)

4. At least 90% of Streaming and digital royalties will be given to her. (I.e. 100,000,000 = $489,100, she’ll receive a 90% amount of that earning which is, $440,190, only $48,910 goes to the company, won’t let her get cheated with stream royalties again like what Interscope did)

And we’re set. Go grab Gaga to your Brand, whoever that label would be, hope they take care of her, she’s rare and valuable. You don’t find a Lady Gaga just anywhere.

Gaga already renewed shortly before/after Joanne and I think she has one of the best deals in the business

She is in total control over her music and promotion, but Interscope seems to have the final say what song is a single, if it gets a video and how it'll be released (Apple Music/Spotify exclusive for a while, for example).

Which is fair I think, Gaga wants them to publish her music, and Interscope wants her to make and release music.
So they have to find a middle way somewhere.

She gets most of her coins by touring, live performances and stuff like the Vegas recidency. ASIB will also keep her afloat for a while too.

The entire album era burnt to pieces a few months before that, she lost her management and the critics were not easy on her at all.
I can understand Interscope to play her really lowkey and quietly bury the era, but on the other hand - Gaga really did this just for us fans. I am sure even she was well aware that G.U.Y. wouldn't be a big success.

Joanne was the last album on her original contract with Interscope, she signed a new one around the time Joanne released.

I think she actually signed a new one last year? Or the year before. But it explains whey we’ve gotten so many album feats and standalone singles compared to the years prior. Something tells me her old contract didn’t allow for her to release songs out of the blue like she did with The Cure. And the fact that she was allowed to lend backing vocals to LNs album last year was surprising too. Something tells me she’s a lot more free with decisions after the new contract. Would love to see her continue releasing projects with friends and what not, but I can’t help but think what her discography would look like if she always had this amount of freedom... anyway I’m glad she has it now.
