Yesterday Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) held it's 8th International Awards in Beverly Hills (they have around 200 members that vote for the Oscars as well).

"And the AACTA International Award for Best Lead Actress goes to Olivia Colman for The Favourite".

The fact that only the winners were present, tells me that the attendees (PR/studios) already knew who's won.

But, more importantly, Glenn Close didn't win even though (according to THR) she was confirmed to attend (she didn't).

Colman and Gaga are in different categories for the Globes.

It's going to be nail-biting 'till the end.

Just watched The Favourite, Colman is the one to beat I think, she's really incredible !

The New Yorker has reviewed Taylor Swift's Netflix special. Here's the link for those interested (Amanda Petrusich is an objective reviewer (unlike some other NY-based writers)):

However, one statement has stuck with me -

"....Pop, as a sound, has always been guileless and optimistic; these days, chart-topping songs tend to be morose, melancholy, and angry. The massive pop stars of yesteryear—Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake—are fading from the public consciousness. Their work seems corny and off-center now..."

Well damn!

Thats why i don't think they will ever support her again. How can you not play a song thats going top 10 on radio charts all over the world, will become one of the most nomminated songs of all time, are a huge ww hit and a sales and streaming hit. The song is even very America sounding and America is the one ignoring it :deadbanana:

The A Star Is Born Soundtrack has been #1 on iTunes Austria for most of this past tracking week. If physical sales were good as well it might finally reach #1 in its 11th week! (The Soundtrack has been #2 three weeks on the official Austrian album charts) :applause::applause:

Where I live, Shallow played a lot and I live in the US. Even Christmas time, Shallow played like 10 times when I went to vacation.
