Eggs 2,776 Posted December 17, 2018 Share Posted December 17, 2018 The verses are great, I love the soundscape, particulalry the bells and the shimmering synths in the intro, and the moment where the tempo drops out for the soaring bridge/outro and the song turns from cheesy pop into a delicate and beautiful rock ballad is one of the most thrillingly unexpected and audacious musical moments in Googs' entire discography, and I will forever love the song just for these components. However, as a whole, the piece is let down by the chorus. It's cheesy and insubstantial, and sounds wayyy to much like the completely superior chorus of The Edge of Glory.
