Come to think of it isn't it less frequent that a teacher would use a single student's pronouns anyway? 

I mean just try to remember how many times a teacher used pronouns to refer to you (and only you since this article is about that one trans students) and I can't really think of that many situations. Since a class typically has 15+ students, teachers almost always have to use the students' names to avoid ambiguity. It's fairly infrequent a teacher uses 'he' or 'she' or 'his' or 'hers' etc. especially when we're talking about one student in a class.

This is upsetting and awful. A high school teacher is supposed to be someone who builds trust and inspires a passion for education in children.  

Even though he was already fired, I’m afraid this 9th grader(!) could be scarred from being bullied and humiliated by their own teacher.
