Chickens in Malibu 7,873
Don't come for me. But Hey Girl was such a let down for me. It's an okay song sure. But when you have people of the magnitude of Gaga and Florence, the collaboration better be of that height. Both Gaga and Florence believe in darkness and expressed that through their artistic work. Both love having odd-looking elements in their music videos. Both have also combined religious references with darkness in their music videos. I was watching this music video, and I was really hoping the collaboration would've looked more like this. This song and music video is hands down one of the best of this decade. I could hear Gaga singing it too. It would've been epic. With that men auction thing, it really looks like "Joanne" version of "Bad Romance" :

Guest
I'll hear you out but imma still come for you, Ive been a Florence Stan since lungs and I think people just want it to be the super loud and hyper songs that suit her powerful voice well, but Hey Girl showcases her other vocal abilities and it makes me so happy every time I listen to it. AlexanderMagno 10,746
Gaga worked with phenomenal and creative music artists in Joanne and the whole work was somewhat lukewarm. Listening to Florence’s work, Kevin Parker’s, Bloodpop’s, Mark Ronson’s, you would expect something different from what we had. They went for the safe zone with Joanne. Anyway, it doesn’t bother me because I can always listen to Florence’s work and her new album is amazing

She didn't perform "Hey Girl" I wish their collaboration was bigger with epic vocals. Because that's what they're both known for: being able to sing powerful notes. FATCAT 60,548
People seem to think that collaborations multiply the two artists potential, so they're usually dissapointed when they realize that collaborations are more like intersections of sets (fancy for the middle part of a 2 piece venn diagram). That's why I prefer Gaga solo. This kitten over here (meow)
yxi 4,999
Florence makes better music than Gaga tbh Hey Girl is nice but their collab felt a bit uneventful... perhaps it shouldn't have happened.. or maybe on a bigger and better song.. I'm not even sure their voices match.. Anyway i love them both
Sebs 1,809
Can you imagine a combined performance of What Kind Of Man and Perfect Illusion? ugh it would be so good

funkyhaus 7,697
There was so much potential but Hey Girl is so boring
AStarIsBorn21 3,714
Hey Girl is a beautiful song. Did I expect something more upbeat that shows off their powerful vocals? Yes. But I’m happy we got a collab by them, as Florence has always been a favorite of mine, even before becoming a Little Monster.
Infinity Wave 7,635
I mean I didn't even want an upbeat track, but, like, Big God or June or literally everything from High As Hope isn't upbeat but STILL a fkin' great song. I wish their collaboration was more like that Colourful
Gov Hooka 8,008
i kind of love this. I need to start listening to Florence now. Can anyone name the hunk who was her love interest?
