I want your Love, Elton John's masterpiece of a cover, Always remember us, Why do you do that, Heal me

Do we have anything to worry.

Joanne was the record where her voice is more disconected from the mix, but they found a nice place and really mastered how to work her voice on the mix. Only Shallow is a mess in this whole record

Oh and they used many effects in all these records loooool. It's literally impossible not use any effect in studio.

you're delusional if you think she didn't use vocal effects on tracks like WDYDT and Heal Me... you can hear the Melodyne, whoever mixes her vox is usually very sloppy during the process 'cause i always hear it. it's even prominent in Joanne, the song. 00:50-00:51, during the GIII-RL, you hear how the person pitching her vocals to sound perfect flopped and the cut you do in flex or Melodyne (softwares for autotune/pitch correction) is very very notable. sounds like a MESS

I agree and disagree with you at the same time.

On Heal Me her voice is literally perfect, it fits the song perfectly, her vocals are so smooth she sounds like an angel. Hair Body Face vocals sounds great too.

But imo she ruined Why Did You Do That with these vocals, I mean this kind of vocals work on songs like Perfect Illusion but ruin songs like WDYDT. Her voice is so aggressive it’s not pleasing to listen to it, she’s almost screaming. I wish she used softer vocals for WDYDT.

I agree. I like her raw vocals on the songs for Joanne and ASIB cuz the music lent itself to it but The Cure & some pop songs on ASIB needed a bit of polishing on the vocals imo. They sounded like demos because of the rawness.

Ugh I really like when she uses vocal effects like in Heavy Metal Lover, G.U.Y. and LoveGame... It makes the songs so good

She can mix both things. Yoü and I, Speechless or Dope have no vocal effects, yet their respective albums are full of vocal-edited songs.

No its refreshing to hear pop songs without all that..why do people want pop so sanitized?  It's like pop fans are afraid of anything natural sounding.  Everything is filtered and processed and quantitzed and limited to the point of lifelessness.   It's like a cheap copy of a Rembrandt that has the forms of his art but none of the nuance.

I see no reason why she can't combine both! Powerhouse bridges and choruses, combined with intentionally robotic, chopped and screwed verses, a trance-like repetitive outtro or post-chorus. Or different vocal effects on different tracks of the album. I think it was silly of Gaga to say she'll NEVER use vocal effects AGAIN (or, more specifically it's silly for us to take her words so literally). Why would you want to put up such limitations on yourself? Leave the door open for an idea involving distorted vocals. I think it would be egotistical to completely swear herself to raw vocals only.

I bet you all the only reason she used vocal effects is because her voice was still getting stronger. Now its really developed and all that, i really don't think she needs it. :classy:

If it's for an effect like in Heavy Metal Lover or Paper Gangsta I think the use of vocal alteration is perfectly fine, but, I'm kind of hesitant about her using it (noticeably) in her newer songs. It'd seem regressive to me imo.

If she's making songs with Sophie there's gonna be a lot of different effects, don't you worry.

My throat puzzy tastes like cherry cough drops (Sophie production) (Skrillex remix) (mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars) (electric country piano version)

That part of WDYDT when she belts "'Cause ever since I met you I've been praying on my knees" ugghhhhhhhhhhh I LOVEEEE IT it reminds me of Cher and it really gives power to the song

Vocals effects can choke unless she makes Charli type-of songs
