Rant: Why does Gaga complicate things?

Bambino

I feel like with every new turn in her life she tries to turn too, which is understandable. But now with the whole gaga/stefani thing it seems like she's almost disregarding her past and trying to say she's always been stefani, in a way that gaga never really existed and was only a character.

I don't think she'll ever stop being a lady, a Gaga and a girl called Stefani at the same time :saladga:.. There will always  be a dramatic strange vibe about her, theatrical ways, irreverence and style:firega:. She'll always be able to change from a gown to sweat pants, rock to pop and always be putting out things in an unexpected way. I think her actions are being over interpreted, because she always aroused our interest a lot. We must at some point learn to receive without expectations, or too much judgment.

Has she ever really changed since Born this way ? She opened so much at this point... She started singing Jazz with Mr Newman with black and white hair :derpga: <It's me

I don't know I have so many things to say. I think she loves pop too, and she will apparently come back to that, so I am confident. And she'll always be a very giving performer, *she has and will always have a huge level of quality wether it's a castle or just too screens with accelerated perspective, a piano, or the white bungalows of Venus... :bye:

Do you feel like Gaga unnecessarily makes things complicated? I mean imo this whole "I'm not Gaga, I'm Stefani" thing is just so uncalled for. She makes me feel like she taking a huge load of **** over all of her older work when she says stuff like that. I mean, I get it she felt like she probably couldn't make it as Stefani the ordinary girl from NYC whom nobody paid attention to, so she had to come up with a more appealing and controversial persona under the name Lady Gaga who'd wear meat, vomit, bleed on stage... etc! and now that she's been ditching some Gaga's weird outfits and looking more normal like Stefani did but this time people are liking it and giving her credit, she's like "but I've always been like this, I'm not Gaga the crazy."

Stefani gurl, I don't know if you're reading this, but you wouldn't have made it without Gaga, you wouldn't have millions of fans all over the world without Gaga. If it wasn't for Gaga, you'd be just another pre-2001 Shakira with a guitar and a bar to sing at. The fact that you, whoever you identity yourself as, can sing pop, jazz, rap, rock, opera, French, act doesn't mean one character has to overshade the other, it means that you, again, whoever you identity yourself as, Gaga or Stefani, are an artist who's versatile enough to what the **** she wants to and do it ****ing well.

Rant is over.

Who are you? :huntyga:

Battle 4 Ur Life

it really makes me sad when she dismisses Lady Gaga saying she’s the byproduct of her own insecurities. especially when Gaga has been a symbol of empowerment and self-acceptance for so many people.

What do you mean? Are you being shady or what?

Have u ever been depressed? Not sad. Depression is an illness. And her depression was because of her insecurities and fears. This is real, it’s not a joke. When she is talking about Gaga, she’s talking about herself in 2008-2012. Her artistic name is Lady Gaga and she will Gaga forever, but, she doesn’t need a meat dress now, only her voice and her persona.

Der Meister

Y’all are wasting your time following every step she takes. She is not the same girl she was 10 years ago, she is a grown woman on her 30s, tired of being a regular pop girl and she wants to be a successful actress. Let her be! You don’t know how her personal life is nor what happens behind the scenes.

During the JWT, she said during one of the meet and greets that she sorta views BTW in a better light now than she had recently. Wasn’t sure how to digest that tbh.

I wonder what that means, hmm.

I feel like, as passionate and incredible and authentic as she was at these times, it must have (in some way, maybe management, maybe the laborious schedule) been very difficult or exhausting for her.

In some ways, I wish we could get her full comprehensive opinion now, because I'm so curious. In other ways, I would rather it be as it is.

I wouldn't tell you that cause it's not true, what is true though is that she still hates Hollywood, did she ever say recently that she liked it any better than she did? :trollga:

But "Gaga" is a performance. Just because something is a performance, that doesn't mean it's inauthentic.

My feeling is she feels compelled to make things complicated because she's afraid her talent just isn't enough. She always overpromotes and always overcompensates with stories that really confuse more than enlighten.

Even with Joanne it was painful to watch. We were supposed to see a simple, authentic musical moment happen and instead she completely drowned it in the whole dead aunt "call me Joanne" angle, still feeling forced to include bs songs about masturbation and falling for cowboys because who knows, they might not dig a balls-to-the-wall country folk album. And then we're surprised she doesn't get critical acclaim?

All through her career it's been presentation first, music second. That's still the case, actually, the presentation's just gotten very tame and very mainstream. It's just frustrating now especially because she's actively making comparisons with her earlier career: rather than "just" having pop songs, now she's supposedly really making music and digging into her heart and soul.

But I don't see it, and I don't feel it. The divide between her presentation and her actual artistic output has never been so great, and it really makes me wonder if she can (or wants to) still sit down and write a great song without the help of all those amazing talents she constantly uses to cover her ass :cryga: She had far less writers on The Fame, like seriously... If it's gonna be 100% her vision this time, then why is she co-writing with 100 people or singing covers? It just doesn't add up.

holy f*cking **** the sis Didymus went in on her and I cannot find the lie AAHHHHHH :cryga:

I find it pretty hurtful of Lady Gaga to tell her fans "You know that pop singer that you feel in love with and changed your life?", (forgive my hyperbole), "well that was just a character and THIS is the real me!"
