Gaga didn't play a singer in AHS and snatched a Golden Globe for it, so that presenter can stay pressed when she gets dat Oscar

Nicole Kidman looks like she can't stand Gaga... She's giving her that bitchy look, looking down on her as if she doesn't belong in that table... I watched part of the whole interview

She’s actually been super supportive of Gaga since the 2010 Grammys. There’s multiple award shows where Nicole consistently gives Gaga standing ovations after her performances. She just always speaks very stern.

Ugh that talk about “I went home with my character, I couldn’t shake it off” is SO CORNY and not at all what acting is about lol. People who treat Stanislavski’s study as a bible and twist his words should not be allowed to talk lol.

So you’ve seen the piecemeal clips from an entire hour-long discussion and come to the conclusion that someone absolutely can’t stand someone else? The whole thing isn’t out until January.

it's not up to you what people go through when they play a character, acting is different for different people

Well, I’m a professional actor who has been studying dramatic arts for 10 years so I think it is up to me to discuss about the matter.

There’s a full hour. Where the actresses will be discussing different subjects. Current affairs too perhaps.

Gaga will have a lot more speaking time than just 5/60 minutes :air:

Been an actor for 20 years and, yes, sometimes roles seep into your subconscious and you take them home for a while. Obviously, Kidman knew who she really was the whole time, she doesn't appear to be insane.

But @Defmix100 is spot-on, you may not agree with someone's process but if that's what it takes for them to find the character and keep it vivid from start to finish, then that's all there is to it.

Can't give Gaga an oscar for playing a singer because she's a singer irl, but you gotta give Glenn an oscar for playing a wife (in The Wife), even though she's a wife irl :sharon:

Well it’s a matter of opinion and to me it’s a bunch of crap. Isabelle Huppert was spot on a few years ago on the same roundtable. Everyone else was going on and on about how hard it was to detach from their characters and she said “I just did my job and went home”. That’s all there is.

I think it's different for everyone, for highly sensitive people it can be a different experience.

I remember Huppert saying that, and if that’s what really works for her, then great. Not everyone can jump in and out that quickly.

Personally, I love hearing about other means of character development. No actor is ever done learning, so why not continue to be curious?
