S0436 10,215 Posted November 26, 2018 Share Posted November 26, 2018 I donât think it is a single per se, itâs just a promo single given to radio.  For me a single is something promoted singularly, hence the word âsingleâ, with performances and promo etc.  It seems it is just to promote the soundtrack and the movie. No, a song doesn't have to have performances in order to be considered a single. The Cure was released as a single after Coachella and in that moment became an official single. Also, soundtracks are meant to promote a movie and are still called singles. Promo singles are a different topic.
