Okay has anyone caught any references to previous seasons?

Spoiler

I was thinking the killer was Twisty from 4&7 but I’m pretty sure he died at the end of 4 so :oprah:

Really solid first episode!

I want more real scares, both slow-build and jump!

The setting is perfect. Characters fit the mold but are good. Loving all the references to classic slasher films.

I liked it! I'm a huge AHS fan, but my excitement was low this season with the usual cast being essentially gone and previous lackluster seasons. That being said, this was much better than I thought. Definitely just playing into the typical 80s slasher tropes, but it's fun and not as cringy as I feared. I'm excited for the rest :tony:

defiantly embodies 80's horror imo thought it played out very well and the end of the episode trailer looks promising for upcoming episodes

It's the same actor, John Carroll Lynch! Good eye.

Spoiler

Yes, Twisty was dead by episode 4 of Freak Show, so it's not him. Unless they did some stupid ass twist.

Also, the major connection this episode was Richard Ramirez! He was a real serial killer who featured in Hotel.

I dunno, overall, I'm not sold yet, but the first episodes are always kinda trash.

I expected AHS does 80s horror, not the other way around.

Any nudity?

A guy showed his hairy chest and :v:

And Billie Lourd went skinny dipping with another fine gentlemen :icega::v: his body and rear were visible. Also something very large was popping out of his short shorts in the previous scene :lolly:

Inb4 last season’s ending changed the fabric of time even for seasons that take place before 2011 :ladyhaha:

I didn’t catch that Richard Ramirez one but now that you mention it, I see it :vegas:

Am I the only one that thought it was weird/didn't understand why they referenced the Olympics so many times? I get it happened in LA in 1984 but they mentioned it at least 3 separate times... was it just supposed to be a nod to Gus?

Also, thought it was pretty decent first episode, some cheesy parts and the 80's vibe might get old too quickly - but the season preview at the end was the best part it looks amazing !

Well that was an edgy episode of Riverdale...

It kind of boggles my mind that an entire team of creative people work on this show. They have access to Oscar winning performers, a substantial budget, a wide audience, and over two hundred years of American history to play with...and this is what they decide to do? A redundant retelling (not even a re-imagining) of every 80's horror movie?

It was total garbage, and I can't wait for the next episode. :)

Not gonna watch after that terrible last season. Especially now that all the amazing actors are gone. Hard to watch Billie Lord do the same character for the fifth time.

Last season she was a powerful witch, this season she is a typical teenage girl though.
