It's not hard to say "N-word". All of us mature people do it.

If it makes you cringe, imagine what black people must feel on hearing the full word especially from a non black person's mouth.

If you can't, get some empathy please.

It would be nice to teach kids that language isn't powerful, only our attributions of power to it are, though :interestinga: All of this word policing is actually barring social change. Bickering over words creates the illusion that something has changed when, really, it's only something very superficial and probably not even worth it.

That J

Lemme see if I can word this correctly...

When someone uses the F word in regards to gay people, it never bothers me cuz I KNOW they ain't talking about me because I'm not ur F word. It has no affect on me even as a gay man.

I really hate that a two syllable word out of everything out there in this world gets so much attention and causes so much angst. I wish people could do with that as I do with the F word ....however, that's not my battle and I can not say what someone else should do about a situation I have not had.

So while I wish it were different, it's not. And people can complain and have opinions about it all day long but it's not going to change it.

He should have said "the N word"...but see I even argue that like thats still him basically saying it.

Idk I feel like if it's that cursed of a word then erase it completely.

Actually what he should have said is "derogatory names"....that would have covered it without being overly offensive.

And America HAS become overly offensive...I dont mean about this...just in general. The truth is, they really arent offended. They just want you to think they are because they have nothing better to do.  But that's an opinion for an entirely different thread. Lol

Not saying it's right nor am I justifying the usage of this word, but I'm just curious to know exactly what CONTEXT it was used in when he said it.
