This just proves how successful a song is when your personal life is all over the news. It’s not really about how good the song is.

it doesn't change the fact that you brought gaga first :staymad:

He posted about Shallow. He implied about the song not the artist.

I would understand if he wrote "Why Ariana is going number one with this mediocre song but not Gaga?"

Give the guy a break and stop trying. By bringing Shallow up he is bringing discussion about Gaga in the thread. So don’t be bitter and be realistic.

Y’all the ones who like to bring Gaga to every conversation. Don’t act dumb now.

Just ignore them. They are clearly trying to provoke you.

The thing is that I adore her, but this song just isn’t it for me. I just feel like she has so much more potential than this, I know it’s just a random surprise release to coincide with her breakup, but I just don’t think it sounds timeless, and I think NTLTC/One Last Time etc do. It’s like she’s getting too into the hip hop/rap scene to be cool and trendy and sure it’ll get her massive hits now, but will it be as well remembered as her ballads or more strong vocal performances? Idk

Honestly, I've been thinking about this and the song isn't bad (definitely not her best), but the song is SOOO relatable! Like anybody going through a breakup right now or anyone with an ex can listen to this song and relate! It's honestly genius and Ariana deserves a number 1 song so I'm happy for her :applause: She's been through so much this year and she keeps releasing positive and empowering songs for us: NTLTC, GIW, Breathin' and now this! I can see this song becoming a breakup classic, like Kelly Clarkson's Since U Been Gone or Destiny's Child' Survivor that we will continue listening to whenever boys go and break our hearts (like I'm going through right now :selena: )

Spoiler

Don't get into a relationship ever, it's all a trap :messga:

Nobody in this thread is bringing Gaga in this but you.

Why won't people just accept criticism of other female artists without justyfing it saying that we are jelous/ bitter/ Madonnanation users. I find it more Madonnanation-esque that some of you don't allow us to express our opinion if it's negative towards another artist you like (I'm not talking insults, just negative opinions).

The fact this song with awful lyrics is going #1 and Shallow isn’t is beyond my understanding

Alright though :spin:

A celebrity namedrops her exes to a generic beat and somehow it's a "bop". I don't get it.

And don't give me that "You only hate it because it's not Gaga" bullsh*t. I know a good song when I hear it and this ain't it.
