Lemonade 2,382
If Sinema pulls through in Arizona and Nevada also pulls through for the Senate, in a year of dems on the defence in states with huge Trump support, they’ll be at what? 48? gaining 2 and losing 3, then a great performance in the House, this really isn’t bad at all! The party is slowly growing but the climate now now requires different priorities for the american voter than sticking to libertarian guns. Once the D/R thing goes back to normal, 3rd parties can start being options again. Y'all need to adopt the non-Trumpy Republicans please and make this at least a three part system. They both are needed to pass legislation. It makes it more likely for dems to get legislation done, or stop republican legislation.

Thanks A schism in the republican party (like it kind of looked like during the presidential primaries) would be kinda great honestly

Insofar as they both remain in one party then there's likely not going to be much progress for them as a party, although they are pretty good as far as a 3rd party goes. With Gary Johnson the party did pretty well in 2012 (more than all other third parties combined), and 2016 saw 3.27% of the national vote, which is the most of any 3rd party since 1996. I was probably very harsh in my first statement but libertarians in 2018 are the most frustrating group I’ve ever met. And it’s mostly because it’s a group filled with people who really don’t have something at stake in an election. They’re majority white, male, and received an education, which usually means they’re not below the poverty line. Their view will never match the true interests of the less fortunate or the minority groups that feel threatened in this political environment. I definitely agree with this. Practically everyone I remember at the libertarian convention in Vegas in 2012 was a white educated male. There were a few women and like one or two african-americans. TRAGIC Can't wait to see the pretty pictures he draws with the new district lines Hopefully not much will change. We've lived with a Republican governor for a while now. Maybe not one so fanatically stupid but hey, we'll survive. Like I said, #O'RourkeGillum2020 Whimsical bitch

Dems were never going to take the Senate back. At least they're making ground in races that Trump beat Clinton by double digits. Governor races are doing ok. And then the House where Dems now have subpoena power. That's more than enough for me at this point.
