Katy's Short Hair Ruined Witness Era

Now don't get me wrong, bc I LOVE HER SHORT BLONDE HAIR, but I think when she debuted the style, almost everyone made fun abour her copying Miley and JB. And as the era went, the controversy about the hair faded but the impact of it was huge.

Witness is an amazing album! It has such good songs like: Hey Hey Hey, Witness, Roulette, Power...

I mean that if Katy would keep the black long hair, the era would've been very succesfull:selena:

She is winning again…. somehow she always stays here. I can’t stand it.

I think it did play at least a bit of a part in her image.

I think that was the start of her hatred and that's sad bc the era had SO MUCH potential

I mean it could be one of the factors but there were other things too like the Migos collab for Bon Appétit...

Ok I'll go further than this bitchy "no". Remember Rise? That didn't have much success either, and she still had her black hair, and it was her first single in a long time. What happened is that she had been so crazy successful for so long. And, as it happens with all crazy successful artists, people grew tired of her. Just like what happened to Gaga with ARTPOP. Now, the question is: will she get back up? If she does, great for her. If she doesn't, she still had an impressive run in the music industry.

I just think the short blonde hair made her look ugly when a lot of her mass appeal was sexualized. I gotta say her long blonde braided hair in bon appetit before they cut it off was hot af!

A lot of people don't like it but I really love it.

Accompanied with her fun and carefree personality, it really made me grow much fonder of Katy than I did before.

Rise didn't have promo and it wasn't pop dance tho:awkney:

Just like TIHTY.. It was gaga's first single after a long time

Except Gaga was coming off ARTPOP and Cheek to Cheek. Katy was coming off the PRISM era, that had a massively successful tour, massively successful singles (remember how effortless it was for Dark Horse to get to #1?), and where she had performed at the goddamn Super Bowl. Gaga was already considered "dead" and "over" when she released TIHTY. Katy was still one of the dominating pop artists when releasing Rise.

I disagree, because Witness is just objectively not a good album, I'm sorry. But yeah, the hair contributed to its underperformance

The thing is the hairstyle really aged her, maybe if this was the 80s it would have been appealing...
