Yes Shallow COULD have been bigger in the US, but who cares ? It's already a global smash, and did good in the US, time to move on before it's too late. The only thing that I can agree is if they will do that for awards help. Outside of that, comparing ASIB with Joanne makes zero sense. We have multiple songs that can be hits here. And Shallow is already a hit, even in US, so I dont understand whats the point in following strategies to get one week in top 10, like for MR, as Shallow has 2 weeks in top 10 already. I am okay with Shallow's run so far and I definitely want more successful singles in this era but I also think the awards aspect is more important imho. Shallow should be pushed longer on radio because it could increase the chances for winning awards due to more exposure. If they would pull the plug now to give another song the platform it could hurt Shallow's chances in that aspect. I still believe exposure of a song is really important for awards campaigning to win them in the end. Hence I think that was partly a reason why TIHTY didn't won the Oscar over Sam Smith because the latter's songs was more known to the people.....
