I guess ARUTW was not making enough profit for Interscope to keep it on that playlist and they will invest in playlists which makes more sense in terms of efficiency against profit. It's just business after all for them..... Or maybe there are more factor/algorithms we are not aware of which justifies the removal of the song from the playlist. In this case the consumers have the power to decide the fate of a song and Interscope not that much. So far Interscope has been very good with handling the ASIB given the fact that the music is very acoustic/raw. I have no doubt that LG6 could fare even better if it consist of GP friendly, polished (Dance-)Pop music. You are correct on this, but I’ll add/correct some points: -Interscope, nor any label can control if a song is added or removed from a playlist. They can pitch the track and a plan for the song, but in the end of the day Spotify decides its inclusion. -For a song to smash, the following has to happen: 1. People listen to the song in full. It has to have a low skip rate. 2. The song has a good follower retention, what does that mean? That the listeners come back to listen it more after they heard it the first time. 3. The crucial part: that people, after discovering a song on a playlist, add the song to their own playlist / library. When you see huge ass records like the one Ariana broke, is mostly because people actively listened to a track from their library (not because it’s loaded by playlists streams), whether if it was because they discovered it on a playlist or due to external factors. This is crucial because, if/when Spotify decides to remove a song from certain playlists, it won’t free fall out of the charts (I’m looking at you, ARUTW) -Most of these factors are organic and can’t be controlled. It all depends on the like-ability of the song. For instance, The Cure had an awful performance given that it had a #2 position on TTH. It didn’t have a good conversion to the users playlists/library streams. I can’t see the streams of Universal tracks (interscope, capitol, etc), But I can see the source of streams for songs of another major label and let me tell you something lmao, if we combine the streams from both INLA versions and if we compare them to the streams that ARUTW might be getting if we take out the daily streams it had when it was on TTH, both songs were doing basically the same amount . The sad part is that one of them was not only promoted in TTH but in some of the countries specific hit playlists. That’s why the other time I said that it was an awful idea for Interscope to make this particular track a single.

INLA was having the most hype and was intended to be the first single from the album. Plus INLA actually is the most important part of the film, everybody will definitely remember it, and let's not ignore it has 2 versions... INLA is an organic hit with the perfect length for a single and strong lyrics.
Gypsy Life 118,907
Take it from a sane ARUTW/INLA hybrid stan, ARUTW would have more streams than it already has if it had 2 versions and INLA would have less streams than it already has if it only had 1 version. ArtGagaPop 61,940
TTH is mostly for the US market. Seeing how not even shallow did well there when it wen't #1 or top 3 in most imporant markets on spotify it's not weird ARTUW didn't do better when in TTH. Meanwhile in other countries it went top 50 without any playlist help and then grew even bigger into the top 20/10 when the country started to playlist it. ARTUW is still the superior 2nd ww single
