The melody is sweet, the lyrics are kinda blasé but there’s so many routes she could’ve taken with the “break up anthem”, she opted for a sweet song written solely by her and her best friends. Just think back to Joanne's era. Before LG5, we had Oscar Tribute (2015), AHS, Superbowl National Anthem (2016), Grammy Tribute for David Bowie (2016) and Oscar TIHTY (2016). All those performances garnered acclaim from everywhere but still doesn't build up to any hype for LG5. I'm just saying by the time LG6 come, the hype from ASIB would have faded away and we should level our expectations based on that period and the position Gaga's in. This time around she stars in one of the most grossing and critically aclaimed movies of the year + having her most popular album+ single since Born this way. Way more people will check out her new stuff once ASIB is over compared to PI. But if the success will last the lead needs to be extremely good ofc.
