Joanne Haters, how do you feel about ASIB now?

I hate Joanne, and I feel like ASIB proves why: finally she goes full out genre-wise. We have the amazing Diggin' My Grave (that's what I wanted Joanne to be) and the gorgeous duets Shallow, MTME and IDKWLI with appropriate musical instrumentation and amazing vocals.

I just felt that Joanne wanted to be more than it was. At its core it's a bland pop album dressed up as something more authentic. ASIB has more weight to it, musically, and I know for a fact that if Gaga went with that sound more for Joanne, she would've gotten a lot more acclaim and public attention for it.

So as a Joanne hater, I feel fantastic about this era. It's not half-baked, it's just there. On point. Musically challenging for Gaga fans. What the **** was challenging about John Wayne and DIC for this fanbase. Finally she's doing something different, balls to the wall, and I love it.

After listening to ASIB, Joanne feels like a "we had a couple of months to make something similar to ASIB soundtrack just to prepare people for transition" kind of album. 

I loved it and I still love it, but it's mediocre compared to Gaga's discography, especially now when ASIB is out.

As long as the songs are well produced... who cares what genre is? And we are so lucky: Gaga always delivers. ALWAYS.

I love Joanne  but I hope she goes back to EDM because she nails it like no other.

Honestly ASIB is one of her best albums and Joanne was a great album. I don't get how people didn't like it. And don't come at me with the dramatic music change thing, because to go from ARTPOP to Cheek to Cheek that was more drastic than from C2C to Joanne. Some people just don't appreciate music that has soul. For me ARTPOP is her most shallow album and to go from there to Joanne was an enormous step up.

What "ruins" Joanne is most of all her Dope vocals in every song except A-YO, DIC, Sinner's Prayer, Come To Mama, Hey Girl and JAD.

Ok I love the ASIB OST because it’s just better imo like it’s not too yehaawww if that makes sense? Like Joanne was bland for me like if any other artist released an album like that I wouldn’t pay attention to it but ASIB OST has like EVERYTHING and rounds it all up so nicely sonically. Joanne was an album about her late aunt but has a song about masturbation?💀 I just wish Joanne delved a little deeper it has the potential like I was expecting a Fleetwood/soft rock kind of sound but GAGA(if that makes sense) but anyways ASIB OST sounds nowhere near Joanne  I would even say it’s better (diamond heart not included in this narrative)

Joanne was the first Gaga album that didn’t feel like it had to go big to meet expectations. It wasn’t trying to impact culture, shock listeners or swallow the charts. It’s really the only Gaga LP that isn’t a concept album. It’s just an album of songs. It’s got this sort of windswept, lived-in quality that I love. Gaga went small and it was really refreshing to me. My rankings change a lot, but Joanne is usually at number 2 (after Born This Way). Even if you’ve jammed out to Joanne the least, the project was incredibly important in transitioning Gaga out of “flash in the pan pop star” and into the genre-queer icon she is now.
