I don't think it was manipulation. They had a mutual love for each other, and that was real. It's not like their relationship was completely one-sided.

It wasn't but he definitely influenced her... She loved him that's why she stayed with him. But he did gave her "a sound" at the beginning and then she came back to it with INLA. It was a powerful scene, but if she wrote the song herself or we've heard a different version from him that she reworked it'd be a more defining star moment I think.

I don't think he necessarily gave her a sound. Look at songs like Always Remember Us This Way and Look What I Found. Those were songs she wrote herself and she still very much kept her own voice in both of those songs. What Jack did was give Ally a platform to introduce herself to the world to. He didn't give her anything besides fame.
