We have our regular/standard top 40 singles chart, and then a second top 40 hot singles chart as well. The Hot Singles chart essentially is a mixture of being an equivalent to the Bubbling Under US chart, a viral chart, and the fastest rising singles in terms of sales, streaming, and radio airplay. Shallow debuted at number 6 on the hot singles chart, then rose to number 4 in its second week, and then finally made its debut on the regular top 40 singles chart in its third week. It's because us kiwi's actually have taste in music From my experience (in central Auckland), Gaga still has a lot of fans / people still respect her a lot. If Gaga actually did promo in NZ it would do wonders for her chart performance here as whenever a big pop star tours NZ, their albums tend to see a huge boost.
