The Haunting of Hill House

I'm still not sure about this. The Haunting of Hill House is one of my most favorite novels of all time, and the 60s film adaptation, The Haunting, is a stunning film, another one of my favorites. I'm just not sure about how much they revised from the source text, and it makes me apprehensive.

Finished the whole series in about 3 days. One of the best shows on Netflix period. The acting is great, the setting and lighting are impeccably executed and you actually begin to care for the characters. There are twists and jumpscares but they're really well done and not just used for the sake of using them. Also, a certain episode is a collection of continuous shots that's really cool to witness. This series truly feels like an event. I just hope it doesn't get slept on because it has the potential to become "Stranger Things" proportion kind of big. I keep thinking about the show too, it really sticks with you in the best way possible.

I haven't seen this adaptation yet, but Shirley Jackson is brilliant. Gaga would be great in a film adaptation of We Have Always Lived In The Castle.

Yeah it’s incredible, believe the hype.

One of my friends is passionate about the book and 1963 film and she absolutely loved this adaptation.

Not getting the hype over this show. It started to get a bit more interesting around episode 6. I didn't find it scary at all. To be honest I thought it was kinda boring. I dunno maybe it's just me but haunted house ghost movies really do nothing for me. I find them a bit over the top. I guess it's more about the mothers decent into hell in her mind. But the ghosts making her do it really isn't remotely believable to me in the least.

I've been watching it on Rabb.it with @KleinGa and @tthen because I refuse to watch it alone :huntyga: I'm determined to finish it. We're at episode 4 so far.

This show is amazingly done! There's so many hidden clues and ghosts playing peek-a-boo. I didn't even know until I looked it up, but there's so much foreshadowing and so many things that tie up each episode together beautifully. I really liked this series and hope they can make a second seasons as good or better than the first.

IDK why people say it takes forever to get interesting?? They must have the attention span of Dory :huntyga:🐟

The show is ok. The ending is a little bit underwhelming, it's not an award winning show, but it's decent i think. The cast is great except adult Steve, he's terrible. Although is a horror show it's mainly focus on the story and exploring the characters, you don't have so many scary scenes per episode. 7/10.

Just finished it right now. It’s an amazing drama.

I wouldn’t say it is scary. People exaggerated that omfg. “Throwing up and passing out” tf?

I was hooked by the first episode, but it wasnt until episode 4 that I felt genuinely terrified while watching. Luke's episode...holy ****
