Just watched the Mariah performance, didn't think it was that bad tbh. She still hit those really high notes that no one else can, even with her aging vocals. Pretty impressive.

Obviously she won't sound like she did in 1993, that's impossible with vocal maturity. Happens to all artists.

She'll probably debut her first single at American Idol if I had to guess.

I personally didn't think the high notes sounded good. But that's just me. The biggest joke was the beginning of the song where they just kept cutting to the horrible black and white video footage of her. Beyond tacky.

I will say, she looks great!

Yeah, she looked good. She's aged gracefully anyway, even if she's a major diva lol

I dont think it sounded good there either, but I think she can still hit them.

Interesting news: Christina Aguilera will premiere and perform her new single on SEPTEMBER 12 on The Voice, the same exact night and time as the X-Factor Premiere. The difference is that The Voice airs on Monday September 9th. So it's basically The Voice 3rd night of auditions vs. The X-Factor premiere. I'm not too worried. I think you all can see the intentions that NBC has by scheduling The Voice for a third night, instead of the usual 2 days a week and having X-Tina perform her new song.

I was looking forward to watching both but I guess I'll just watch the X-Factor since I don't care for Christina. I was really excited for her new song but seeing this rivalry re-emerge again is bothering me. But, if history is any indication, Britney will come out on top. Again. :teehee: What makes NBC think that people are going to tune in for the THIRD night of The Voice instead of the PREMIERE night of the X-Factor?!

I'm so...lost with the charts right now  Nicki's underperforming, Katy's either on break or planning to release Dressing Up with nothing confirmed, Xtina can release something anytime now, Britney can release something new or from a more than one year old album at anytime with nothing confirmed, Taylor debuted huge with a sell-out-like and not-so-good song but her second single's success is up in the air, P!nk's single underpreformed and I have no idea what she's gonna perform at the VMA's and when she's releasing her next single, No Doubt's first single did...ok, with a second single probably set to underperform, Ke$ha's doing something no one knows about yet, Carly's probably gonna smash and make a bigger name for herself, Adele's preggers and gone, a bad K-Pop song is climbing the charts, Too Close FINALLY burst into the top 10 (top 5 even maybe) after being way too close for the longest time, Maroon 5 is smashing even if they sold out, Linkin Park is virtually non existant with their album era, Chris Brown and Train somehow have songs doing really good on iTunes all of a sudden, Cher Lloyd's single broke into the top 10 and is about to fall out with her second single not doing good, Neon Trees' nearly one year old song is finally in the top 10, Justin Bieber is underperforming and I have no clue what he plans to do next, Ellie Goulding looked like she was finally getting somewhere in the US but she chose the wrong song to follow up with, Alicia Keys is a huge question mark, Mariah is failing, Madonna is flashing her boobs in foreign countries, Beyonce is too busy with her baby to be releasing music, One Direction might actually have a humungous debut with their upcoming lead single depending on what exactly the perform at the VMAs, and Phillip Phillip's song is actually turning into a hit.

That's a huuuuge post...but did I miss anything? I'm trying to organize my thoughts and summarize everything that's going on in music right now.

How could you say that No Doubt's doing okay and then say Justin Bieber's underperforming? I think it's the other way around imo
