I don't know about the real rate at which WANEGBT got to itunes #1 but that is just a measure of how organized is the fan base and nothing to do with the general public's appreciation of the song.

I make the first 6 days' sales of WANEGBT approx 118K (Mon), 201K (Tues), 89K, 73K, 55K, 55K,

so in the first 3 days it sold 408K vs BTWs 448K

and if it maintains the 55K/day then in the following 7 days it would sell 403K vs BTWs second week 509K (an average of 73K/day)

Or another comparison would be that BTW sold an estimated 448K + (3/7)*509K = 666K in its first 7 days of release, vs the estimated 628K at the moment for WANEGBT's first week.

I see what you did there, Satan! :creepflop:

You know a song is bad when a radio DJ openly admits the song is terrible over the air.

Tsk, tsk, tsk.

To be fair, it could have been a hit.

Her last album didn't do as well as the previous, the country-is-the-new-black trend is dying out in the US, and she's never been popular overseas. Now all of a sudden her new single is Top 10 in the UK.

What happens when you sell out, then try to go back home? Just ask Nelly Furtado or Norah Jones.Gnpm9.jpg

It was pretty hilarious. They do trivia everyday, and one of the questions was what the name of the song was and they started talking about how people seem to like it even though it's not even good "It's not even good, it's pretty terrible."
