This really tells you that the VMA's are complete crap, though. Both Beyonce and Taylor were nominated for Best Female Video and Taylor won. But Beyonce won Video of the Year. How can the Video of the Year not also be the Best Female Video? It makes no sense. Not that Moon Men were ever meaningful but still.

I get what the VMAs are trying to do - they want to involve the fans through voting and set things up so credible (or varied) artists win VOTY.

So they have categories where you know Gaga, Britney, Taylor or Bieber fans will award their faves, but either rig the vote or nominations so other people can win VOTY when they want.

PS: Thanks to Kanye not understanding this, TS winning a lesser award ended up overshadowing Bey getting the big prize.

Capitol won't give up. Sources tell that Wide Awake won't be the last single from Teenage Dream. Dressing Up will get that honor and be sent to radios on August 20th. The almost two-years-old album already sold 2 million units and spawned 8 Top 3 singles.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. As much as I love Dressing Up, I think the world has had MORE than enough of Katy Perry and I am deeply outraged at the decision to further continue the seemingly-endless Teenage Dream era and Capitol Records constantly insisting on shoving Katy Perry down our throats for the past 2 years. By the way, is anyone kind of worried that gaga is going to have 2 songs come out MOST likely before her lead single (plus her perfume campaign)? She might hit over exposure before her lead single haha

Like if she wanted to wear fur, she should have never took a stand against it. And now we have pigrez against us, and he is gonna talk a lot of ****. And now Gaga is doing a big mistake by being everywhere all the time. The perfume was fine. But now she is gonna be featured in 2 songs. Well, I guess thats fine. Look at Rihanna. But she is also releasing a movie. People are gonna get annoyed she is on their face all the time.

BTW was a Gaga centered era. She did it all alone. Her style, her choice, her vision.

Now, with 2 collaborations with Cher and Kendrick, not only she pave the way to her comeback but she start gaining back her mainstream appeal she lost a tad during BTW.

Kendrick will introduce Gaga back to RnB/Hip-hop/Urban radio market while Cher collab will be a huge event.

It will also keep a momentum for the BTWB.

For Perez, he got no credibility left (did he ever had some...?) and no one gives a **** about that guy.

As for the fur, it gets TONS of headline.

Most of them are positive especially since Gaga responded (just take a glimpse at Google news you'll see a lot of : "Gaga fires back at Peta cleverly". "Gaga defends Kim Kardashian".) The focus isn't around Gaga being blamed for wearing fur but mostly the whole debate around it. So good publicity IMO and Gaga is used to controversy and rarely had backlash for it.

So, IMO, Gaga is just gaining back a more mainstream appeal before her comeback and it was about time she did a collaboration.

(BTW being Gaga centered with no collab was a great idea imo because she proved everyone she was there to stay but she need to balance her game too and not forgot the truly radio friendly market).
