Wikipedia says this is also a remake of ASIB. It looks really dramatic and over the top :laughga:

Has anyone here watched this before? How does it compare to the other versions?

It was huge hit in India, box office smash! Although Indian public is ignorant of the fact that this movie is a remake of A Star is born :selena:

Oh God, I was hoping no one would bring this up.

It was actually a good movie though, amazing soundtrack, although it was playback - the actors were not the singers. :selena:

I used to sing to my very white American English speaking boyfriend, "Tum Hi Ho" from the movie. Now I sing "Is That Alright?" and "Always Remember Us This Way"

they're being ignorant as hell thinking ASIB is copying it when their version has lawsuit potential for copying the 1976 version down to similar lines said in the film

Don't get me started with all of the people I had to reply to and say that ASIB is the fourth or even fifth remake and the original was made in the 1930s. :saladga:

What can I say? Not defending. Bollywood is full of nepotism and actors aren't singers. Singers aren't even famous - people only buy soundtrack albums, never really artist solo stuff. Most people don't know names of any singers other than a few famous ones who sing for movies (without acting in them). The singers are usually shy, lowkey people.
