And btw the early 2000s weren't really as big on pop music as many remembered..if you look at the charts it's mostly alt. rock/hip hop stuff.

we need to realize that the music that is popular nowadays, is nowhere near hip hop. true hip hop, back in the 90s, even 00s with Eminem, that music truly deserved to be as popular & played as it was. the mumble soundcloud **** we have nowadays is just.. :green:

Yeah that's why I said that 2008-2012 era were good times for all genres. Today's hip hop is not only trashy mumbling but also the hip hop singers most of them don't look like a star and look like some homeless ghetto trash.

I feel like it's the 80's, even the fashion was very 'poppy', plus it's not a coincidence that we got all three king & queen of pop & the purple prince from that decade too :firega:

What? You don’t think the era of Katy, Gaga, Kesha, etc was truly pop? 2008-2010(11)

they are pop, but nothing compared to the 90's and early 2000s

Considering there would be no Gaga, Rihanna, Beyonce etc. without the superstars of the 80s, I'd say the best time period for pop were the 80s.

Have to go with mid 80s. Peak Madonna, peak MJ, Early Whitney, peak Prince, Cyndi Lauper. Some of those names aren't JUST legends; they're literally some of the biggest legends of all time.

The 1980s was POP definitely the 1980s made pop, if it wasn’t for that decade we wouldn’t have gotten the resurgence of great pop music in the late 00’s as pop in the mid 90s was very alternative and hiphopy, as well as the mid 00’s and now the late 10s :huntyga:

Don't go for second best, baby Put your love to the test
