Around the time Thriller, Like A Virgin, Prince, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and many other songs were released. Every decade has a lot of great pop songs, I remember in the 90's and early 2000's it was all about Backstreet Boys, Britney, Christina, Nsync, A Teens, Spice Girls, etc. Thank you! I was looking for this kind of information. All of those mentioned above are legendary indeed. So then there are probably 3 massive waves in pop music so far? 80's, late 90's - early 00's, late 00's - early 10's? 月にかわって、おしおきよ!🌙

I'd say the biggest waves in pop music have been the late 80's and early 2000s, as far as I remember, maybe even late 90's as well but there's no way the 2010's compare to that, it's too early to tell and the music industry went more on an alternative or hip hop trend. It's not golden at all. while I don't like those albums myself and don't consider them a great body of work at all (maybe except Femme Fatale, I kinda liked it ), they spawned multiple huge hit songs each. 月にかわって、おしおきよ!🌙

Id say his part of the movement. Id classify the other half of his career as pop, always tending to fuse with alternative trends

Pop specifically was amazing due to Gaga , Katy , Britney, Rihanna and even Beyonce was interesting. Hip Hop is the worst thing that happened to the industry and I hope those one era wonder rappers would just go away now. we need to realize that the music that is popular nowadays, is nowhere near hip hop. true hip hop, back in the 90s, even 00s with Eminem, that music truly deserved to be as popular & played as it was. the mumble soundcloud **** we have nowadays is just.. Esteban 2,300
Pop is not a gender/style of music, its a way of production, everything can be pop...rock in 60s, disco/funk in 70's, glam/hard rock in 80's, triphop/rnb/house/dance in 90's, rnb/urban in 00's, electro/EDM on 10's, trap/hiphop in the 20's.. So its incorrect to consider that beyonce is not pop although her way of production clearly is But if I have to choose a decade 90's oc
