Rino 5,120
Which time period in pop music timeline would you name the Golden Age of Pop? I'm leaning more to 2008-2011, back when pop music was so exciting In 2008-2011 we had several massively successful pop eras: Beyonce - I Am... Sasha Fierce Britney Spears - Circus, Femme Fatale Rihanna - Loud Katy Perry - Teenage Dream Lady Gaga - The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way Kesha - Animal, Cannibal we also had Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber debut albums and Adele's colossal 21 era. Of course, it's mostly based on my personal experience and my gay heart that can't resist female pop singers with catchy songs I know there are other timelines when pop legends like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey etc. were killing it (sometime in the 80's-90's ), so maybe there was a time in pop music when even more impressive eras were taking place almost simultaneously? Enlighten me please if so. Or maybe you agree with me and we will officially name the 2008-2011 the Golden Age of Pop? 月にかわって、おしおきよ!🌙

FfFfFfFF 55,181
It's interesting how the 2010s music went from being called ''generic'', ''trash'', ''a downgrade to real music'', ''superficial'' to being called the golden age of pop. I guess this what happens with every decade.

Widows Kiss 7,818
I miss 2011 when Adele, Britney, Gaga, Katy and Rihanna were making hits left and right. The most iconic MPG group.
AlejandroooO 515
2008-2012 were incredible years not only for Pop but all music genres. Pop specifically was amazing due to Gaga , Katy , Britney, Rihanna and even Beyonce was interesting. Hip Hop is the worst thing that happened to the industry and I hope those one era wonder rappers would just go away now.
Anderson123 37,856
I'd say it was around 1984-1987? Around the time Thriller, Like A Virgin, Prince, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and many other songs were released. Every decade has a lot of great pop songs, I remember in the 90's and early 2000's it was all about Backstreet Boys, Britney, Christina, Nsync, A Teens, Spice Girls, etc. Sorry but I feel like Loud, Animal, TEenage Dream and Femme Fatale are some of the most generic albums out there. It's not golden at all.

No. Furthermore, I’d just like to remind everyone that agrees with this that artists like LMFAO and The Black Eyed Peas were dominating the charts at this time.
