Canada has slapped a 25% Tarrif on steel imports from China and a few other Nations to avoid becoming a dumping ground for sellers who no longer compete to sell in the US and look to sell cheap elsewhere

While Canada has always put a lot of emphasis on free trade having signed many free trade agreements and even attempting it with China (on hold for now due to human rights disputes), it is afraid the current US situation will make it a dumping ground for cheap steel if it doesn't defend itself

The Government has hinted before that if such measures were innacted they would be removed as soon as the US removes their steel Tarrifs

This is further proof that the US trade wars are spilling over to other nations
