Twitter should be closed.

Cancer of the internet along with tumblr

The Discourse can never be silenced.

These sites can go the way of Digg but all these complex diverse viewpoints will always be there.

Censorship isn't the answer.

Am I the only one that thinks a statement like "Fat people don't have enough representation in media" is an insult to the communities of black, brown, asian, gay, etc. people who are trying to fight for representation?

A plight is a plight. I wish people would stop comparing certain plights. Yes fat people are unfairly judged. Yes people of color are unfairly judged. They don't outweigh each other, because they are two different issues.

I have the solution for everyone. She can play Ursula's sister, Morgana :laughga:

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Ursula was NOT a drag queen. Her aesthetic was inspired by a white drag queen, but Ursula was a female. The black thing came from I think Queen Latifah or someone playing her on a TV show.

I think Gaga would be good for this role, especially Vanessa. However, Ursula's voice was much lower and raspier. It will be hard for anyone to pull that unique voice off.

Also, how has noone made the joke yet that we're all surprised they didn't cast Scarlett Johansson? :laughga:

Supersonic

All offense but Ginger Minj is the only right for Ursula. Gaga doesn't fit her and I'm sure she'd much rather play Ariel than Ursula anyway lol.

I'd accept Cher for Ursula too.

Yes, you are the only one. From when fighting your own battle makes you a bad person because there are many others to be fought? There are examples for days tbh and we should label them as insults? :saladga:

It’s just ridiculous how Twitter is taken too seriously. Everything is transphobic, cultural appropriation, homophobic, heteronormative or fake news, too liberal, fake, controlled... it’s pure bullshit.

What really bothers me is that Twitter is taken seriously by some important  people :saladga: like what the ****

Tumblr is just a pure tumour that can’t be taken seriously.

LMAO this is just human nature though. Sure, the internet has magnified it, but even if "tumours" like twitter and tumblr stopped existing, such discourse would still thrive.

Or...maybe you, personally, need a media detox if you can't handle complex topics of discussion.

This goes all the way back to 2012 with the shooting of Trayvon Martin.
All these social media sites were just memes and "like this post if" until the people using the platform found a way to talk about these hard topics.

Depends on your twitter feed and tumblr dashboard. You can always unfollow.

“You can’t handle”, yeah sure

Topics like this are really important?

People take it too far, way too far that it falls in the line of ridiculous and becomes embarrassing.

But as another person said, it’s just human nature

Every single topic you listed as bullshit is important. It affects thousands, if not, millions of people.

Transphobia, Homophobia, & Heteronormativity are all issues that LGBTQ people have been voicing about since the Lavender Scare of the 50's.

Cultural Appropriation is an issue to many people of color as we help expose that there is still a veil of white supremacy in America and our history set it up this way starting with manifest destiny.

Fake News is what we've been dealing with for the past two years.
It was a term coined by liberals about right-wing media outlets publishing inflammatory news clickbait to further divide the nation. Trump, being the idiot that he is, takes the term and refashions it for his followers to distract fact-checking.

There has to be someone that takes all these topics and researches how the conversation changes daily with people with high levels of influence.
If you can't deal with how media has been run since, idk, forever, take some time out for yourself.
