Ok so before I go to sleep...:saladga:

I see people talking about ARTPOP success. For me, ARTPOP is important in another way completely different about charts and sales, or everything related with commercial performance.

ARTPOP was a necessary era to see a woman fight for art expression in an industry that doesn’t like womans to fight and express their feelings in a non-commercial way. Gaga was on the edge of the world and she did it, she did ARTPOP.

She did an album with 0 radio friendly songs, directed a music video for herself, colaborated with big names of the arts (Marina, Jeff...) having Interescope and Troy saying that she should’t do.

We have seen the pain, we have seen the stans trying to make her dissapear of the panorama, the media calling her a flop, the radio not playing her...

But after that she reinvented herself several times and now she’s on the edge again.

And despite the sales, everybody, fan or not, will remember the ARTPOP era in a unique way. I don’t care about the 2.5M sales, we had something bigger, the capacity of our mother monster to express through art having everybody against her but serving longevity for 5 years more.

Enjoy the ASIB charts:hor:

Good night

Some of this just doesn’t make sense.

ARTPOP was a concept inspired by a reverse warhol, taking artistic concepts and putting them into pop music. She created an EDM/pop album with some experimental aspects, but tons that can be seen as radio friendly or similar to her previous efforts. I’d argue Born This Way as a whole was more authentic. The reason why ARTPOP did bad was because of constant overhype and mainly (and sadly) overexposure. The concept, the cover art, Gaga herself, was kind of overdone for the GP. I personally think there was a slight dip in quality, aswell. She was on the “edge” you speak of during 2010-11, ARTPOP was a (rough) landing.

I don’t know if Apple Music added this feature or if it was there all along and I never saw it but when you search for an artist in your library and previously added music videos of them in your library the videos show up under the artists' albums you added.

Pretty cool. A few updates ago they also introduced a Music Video section in the browse section. I'll watch artists' music videos there from now on, YouTube ads can be annoying.
