FinnishGypsy 921
The combination of Titanic’s box office and VHS/DVD sales means it remains the highest-grossing film of ALL TIME. I absolutely loved ASIB, but there’s just no comparison in terms of cultural or commercial impact. I was a little kid when Titanic came out, but I still remember the enormity of that phenomenon, (and I don’t use that word lightly), very well. But nevertheless, both movies are fantastic (hopeful!) Oscar winners with absolutely beautiful yet heartbreaking love stories at their core. Timeless.
Seeka 12,372
You can't really do a comparison since you haven't even seen Titanic. There are similar themes, but honestly, the movies are totally different. Titanic made us look at love differently. ASIB is another love story wrapped with fame. They're not similar enough to really say one is another. Watch Titanic. You'll see why it is the way it is. Honestly Your Name (the anime movie) is more like Titanic because it has a new way of looking at love. Just don't compare what you haven't seen to what you have. Same goes for ASIB. Ally felt she can never love again towards the end. Definitely agree with all of this. And ASIB is already one of my all-time favorite movies, like Titanic. But seriously, you HAVE to see it! You may currently feel as though you have already more or less seen it since you undoubtedly know the entire plot due to how often and frequently it’s referenced, and therefore think it’s not worth the three hours to actually watch it. But trust me. It’s worth it. Yes, you know what is going to happen, but the movie is absolutely epic.

People watched it not 2-3 but more than 15 times, it was at the cinema for like 10 months, sold out every single day and show.. we will never get this kind of phenomenon anymore.. Gah, I remember. I was 6 when it came out. I saw it three times in theaters, and my parents and Nana saw it even more than that.

FadMadonsterStan 578
Excuse me?!....... never seen Titanic!!! One of the Best films of all time (my favorite film of all time) you even say it what you waiting for I cried every single time I watched this movie (1,000+) anyways... I agree A Star is Born COULD be this generations or closest to Titanic, considering they don’t make love films this good anymore, but Titanic was very BIG and ASIB is big but not BIG if you know what I mean. Don't go for second best, baby Put your love to the test
