The Stars Are Aligned For Gaga‘s Pop Comeback

If you told me in 2016 that Gaga’s big pop domination would be in 2019 I would be like, 3 more f***ing years???  But everything since ARTPOP has been a preparation for LG6, it seems.

Cheek To Cheek & sound of music tribute  is self explanatory.

Joanne was definitely a weird era... first off the fact that Gaga was hyped to release a pop album with RedOne then Completely scrapped it??? Second, the whole concept behind the album and the songs seemed a bit weird (her dead aunt), the songs on Joanne were overall decent, nothing groundbreaking even though she had the potential to do better... especially when we saw Gaga slay Pop/rock/country on asib. I feel like Joanne was less a “country/rock Gaga album” project and more of a “let’s make Gaga stripped down like the opposite of TFM” project. But it worked, and now it’s almost too perfect that perfect illusion didn’t do so well and Million Reasons was the standout single (that was probably the plan all along... RIP perfect illusion, born to flop)

Then we have the Super Bowl, and everything between that and ASIB. One America Appeal, The Grammy’s, etc. 

Now with asib, the entire WORLD is praising her. She’s cementing her legacy. Honestly ASIB was the best career move in her entire career. She officially has rid herself of her 2009 image, people pretty much look beyond it now, and is almost universally recognized for her talent.

now with Oscars season coming up, I can almost GUARANTEE that she will win one. And when she slays the oscars, BOOM. LG6 lead while her name is on everyone’s mouth. Literally anyone, fan or not, will give her single and her album a listen at this point. I mean Lady gaga’s return to pop... it’s been so long and in 2016 it may have been a good time but in 2019 everyone is ready now. I genuinely feel like she’s on the cusp of having a MASSIVE peak... and she’s smart enough to deliver a smash lead and album. It’s the perfect time. All eyes are on her, there’s no more controversy or awe, EVERYONE will be listening. 

 

TLDR : 2014-2019 was all meant to Be preparation for a massive Gaga comeback. If Gaga released pop instead of Joanne, it would have done well but because she waited she might have one of the biggest years of her career.

 

now a personal opinion, I think for LG6 she should either go back to her LG5 GagaxIntel aesthetic with maybe some disco bops or PC SOPHIE bops. Or maybe she can channel “dark ga” again without being controversial but high fashion as f***. Like her weird photo shoots and interludes recently.

My biggest fear is that everyone is loving her now and she released something so polarising (when doesn't she?) That it has the opposite effect and turns people off and makes them feel hesitant to like Gaga again. They probably want more balladcountryrockga and not popbussyslayingqueenGa. Either way we know the album is gonna be perfect. The gp will always be frantic and whatnot.

Anyway, I'm going to support her for life. She's definitely changed my perspective and impacted my life. There's no way I'd ever leave or abandon her.

Well, I think in Gaga’s case it’s a little different. Everyone knows she can release her Gaga side (her peak in her career was this time), it’s just now everyone knows that she’s talented as f*ck too. And I think she’s smart enough to go halfway and release pop music that will smash but not polarize, I think she’s beyond that now. Look at Just Dance, Poker Face, Applause, Telephone, TEOG - none of these were really super controversial and I think for LG6 she will do a very Gaga aesthetic but without the flashiness and satanism (see : JWT interludes, her weird IG photo shoots)

I feel like gaga is still want to release a smash pop album but she's afraid of how the gp will react to her being gaga again ... I think she's putting herself inside a box .

She can be POP and RESPECTED by the gp at the same time and that's the thing that she's not aware of.

I doubt they'll fully support her change now to Gaga's edm or pop album. You can totally see in Shallow's comment how everyone is commenting "thank god she left the meat dresses, now this is real music" and things like that.

I definitely agree that this time is crutial for Gaga to make the right decisions as far as music as concerned. My only worry is that the general public may be expecting more music in the style of ASIB, so they could be caught off guard if she were to release a full pop album. I personally do miss The Fame/Monster Gaga but, that said, we’re 10 years on and she’s shown how much she’s grown since The Fame and she doesn’t need all the controversy to stand out. It could go either way but I do agree that ASIB has opened a lot of doors for her music career

In this case, it makes more sense for her to release LG6 and C3C one after another. Double discs aka. Lady Gaga might be coming.

She let talent speak for her all these years and it does manage to secure a solid fan base consisting of people over 40. While, the problem is that she is still kind of irrelevant to teenagers. I wonder how the movie will be marketed to college and high students.

A Gaga pop album is not going to do well anytime soon at least by Gaga 2009 standards until the radio climate changes. Y'all don't realise Gaga is on the way to surpass her 2009 success with ASIB and that her demo has changed. The album will tank on radio especially if it's electronic / heavy techno as they don't only play bland pop from girls 20 years old women and rap songs.

I think she'll be fine regardless because she does so many versatile things that she does the one thing every pop star wishes that they could: reach everyone or at least have the ability to.
