God. Saw it last night, it was so amazing. I'm still trying to get over it. That ending really had the whole theater in tears.

Can't wait to watch it next week when it comes to my country!!!

Does the 43M count the monday holiday as part of the "weekend" already though?

Random question, but if the movie officially came out on the 5th, why was I able to see it on the 4th? I almost never go to movie theaters and this was my first time ever seeing a film on opening day

Wait is not Sunday a part of the weekend in the US?

I think the Sunday numbers are estimated since a lot of people pre book the tickets.

They already covered the budget for the film so this is amazing :applause:

Of course, marketing expenses are actually not included in the movie budget but I am sure that it will be easily surpassed with these opening numbers as indicators!

Just to put this in perspective a bit - La La Land earned only $9 million opening weekend, as it became a 'sleeper hit' kind of movie & still went on to win multiple awards, Mamma Mia 2 opened with $34 million, and even the heavily-nominated remake of Les Mis made only $27 million opening weekend.

To also shed some insight to how much more impact the film industry has than the music industry - strong opening week sales on a mainstream pop album are anywhere from 300,000 copies plus, and at around $15 an album, estimated opening week sales for that are around only $5 million. I say only 5 million bc compare that to ASIB's 45 ****ING MILLION I'd say sis is comimg THROUGH with these numbers. :golfclap:

No, its Friday Saturday and Sunday. Monday is not included in the weekend. :sara:

And you can tell they’ve spent a pretty penny on marketing! People at my work are commenting on how they’ve seen this movie EVERYWHERE haha
