FUN FACT: Gaga played Ally, her character in ASIB, as an Italian American as an homage to her being Italian.

She always wanted to play an Italian American in a movie since she was 12.

OT: why couldn't Ally and Jack have a sweet bathtub scene?

They also miss that The Shrine auditorium has been featured in every iteration of ASIB. But more importantly, so many other connections to L. Gaga’s life and project.

first of all the three different bathtub scenes (hair color change, eyebrow love, and the fight) are not by accident– see all the times bathtubs have come up as a symbol of ritual baths and rebirth in Just Dance, Poker Face, Bad Romance, Judas, You and I, Fame Commercial, Marry the Night, gagavision, various photoshoots, I could go on.

there are some connections between Rez and Troy Carter

being The Rockstar’s Girlfriend– she has been obsessed with this Angie Bowie/Bianca Jagger archetype since the early days in love with Luc. Check the lyrics to Fooled Me Again. There’s an old interview where she dives into this as well.

the struggles with a drunk boyfriend– a big part of her story with Luc. So too is the struggle with a male partner jealous of her success and demonizing pop music. This storyline is for Ü

back to some small stuff– the first scene of her in the bathroom is a black and white chessboard tile floor. This symbol of identity duality has come up over and over again in past visuals as well.

i can’t help but assume that she had a role in the creative direction and plot development much more than they’re letting on so that B. Coop gets the director spotlight. I knew it in AHS hotel too.

Didn’t see it in the article but in ally’s house in the dinning room or living room there’s a picture of Gaga as a young child hung up which I thought was pretty neat :golfclap:

Did no one pick up the fact that Clint Eastwood (the first director) had his own nod in this film too... when Jackson is talking about his dad being a pecan farmer in Arizona. That’s In reference to Clint’s new movie, the mule... another movie that cooper is in!
