Seriously, what is this ****? He’s listed as a writer and producer on 6 of her tracks.

well just read your booklet with the detailed credits on each of his songs. Not that hard

Absolutely not, I give him all the credits he deserves on BTW and ARTPOP albums. I'm just saying those credits on ASIB feel soooo 'He's my friend and he's in the room let's give him some coins with producing credits'.

If he was soooo involved in the production why does he have like zero credits in production, mastering, mixing and musical stuff on the detailed credits ?

Once again I give him all the deserved credits as producer he has on BTW and ARTPOP because he actually made it.

Because mastering and mixing are two seperate jobs. DJWS was co-exec producer on ARTPOP and wasn’t credited for mixing or mastering. Get a grip.

I don't get the issue... He's an electronic music producer, he can be credited as such without having to touch an instrument. Also, mixing and mastering aren't his job. He's co-writer/producer on 6 songs, that's the respectable extent of his involvement and that's... alright, idk what's the problem :triggered:

Well, check your BTW and ARTPOP booklets, because I can tell you he isn't credited for mixing / mastering those records either. Because that's not his job :laughga:

but it's the songwriters that usually matter the most (that get the royalties and rights for the song). they are the ones who write the lyrics and the melodies.

How Lady Gaga's Pop Songs in A Star Is BornWere Made

Did you work with Bradley Cooper at all?

I worked completely with Gaga. Obviously, Bradley came in and out to talk about certain things and we watched the movies together, and it’s his baby. I’m a big believer in letting people do what they do best and trying not to get in their way. Lucas and I are from different pedigrees, and he and Bradley working together was probably like me and LG working together. I’d probably fare better learning a foreign language than trying to pretend like I know how to write country, or rock and roll. It’s not my bag. As a weathered veteran of this whole thing, I know better than to put my nose where it doesn’t belong. [Laughs.]

Last October, before there was a lot of information about the film out there, I saw that Lady Gaga had posted a selfie with you in the studio. Were you working on music for A Star Is Born, or was this a studio session for an upcoming solo album of hers?

We’re kind of working on all things at all times. She is doing promo for the movie right now and she can’t write heavily but I’m 100% sure that she’s writing songs down somewhere. On tour, it was easier to be like, I’m gonna get on a bus and follow you around and between shows or in the morning or after the show we’ll write some stuff and wherever it goes, it goes. It’s very organic and liquid all the time. I like it like that and I think she does too. We didn’t set aside only two months or so to work on the soundtrack. We just work all the time.

:vegas:

Dreams of you and me are in the dirt.

This thread...

dont tear him down because you don’t understand. Producers or writers don’t do  Mixing/engineering stuff. If he’s credited as writing and producer then he probably did some work.

its like saying Gaga didn’t mix her own music so she is stealing credits and wasn’t involved in her work.

Jokes aside, although I'm a fan of his work in other albums I don't find the production of any song off the album remarkable

I think it's quite easy for everyone to like it, the goal of a sountrack. I think DJWS emphasised the fact they all designed that sountrack to not to be Gaga music so I wouldn't compare the music to anything else Gaga has done tbh

You're right there, but still is not his best production, leaving aside if he did only what he was asked for, which makes so much sense

Really? I feel like the pop songs have his mermaid stamp all over them. Especially WDYDT.

My only issue is that I remember when he tweeted that he produced most of the soundtrack. Now we know he was involved in only 6 songs (out of 19).
