jereve 1,627
SPOILER ALERT;;;;;;;;;; So, i just saw the movie and while my thoughts about it are still intact im going to post this. I don’t know if im alone in this thought or whatever but lemme share. The movie was beautiful. Acting, music, story, foreshadows sprinkled like freakin birthday cake. However, I want to talk about the ending though. I was not a fan of it. It felt very rushed like Bradley wants to keep everybodys emotions afloat after the audience witness Jack’s hanging. I get that but Ally singing on stage commemorating her husbands tragic death and making it the emotional ending to a very personal story? I don’t get it. we were introduced to Ally and Jack very intimately. Just the two lovebirds discovering each other’s parts. There’s literally no way the movie couldn’t end in an intimate note and setting. intimate. Have Gaga emotionally wreck and start singing ALWAYS REMEMBER US THIS WAY... ..... THEN at Jack’s Death anniversary, have her sing I Will Never Love Again. Or something along those lines..,, That wouldve made for a better constructed ending instead of an abrupt ending that i felt was lacking. i dont know. Still love the movie though. I just wished we couldve seen more and heard more music after jacks death. Thats all. Lemme know your thoughts about the ending. Enlighten me. Lava 3,537
I thought it was an incredible film and the ending was perfect. The ending wouldn’t be as powerful if it wasn’t the way it is.
Harris Walz 2024 1,451
I don't think the ending was as meticulously done as the rest of the movie. In there defense though, that kind of scene/subject matter is hard to get perfect. I mean, do you really go for overly dramatic or the subtle nuanced ending that they chose. Maybe it will be longer in the Directors cut if they have one and I am really looking forward to a longer version and deleted scenes, bloopers, etc... The whole tone of the movie was very intimate. We were invested in the relationship, it was the two of them then us the audience. Surely an intimate ending can still work. Don't you think that was why the last chorus is Jackson and Ally at the piano in their house? The public tribute was to show that Ally's career is still going on, but the cut to just the two of them was the real tribute to the love they shared. FadMadonsterStan 578
Only thing I’ll say was I felt that there was so many scenes compiled together that It felt a bit rushed, like I was surprised when she was nominated for Grammies, other then that I loved this film Don't go for second best, baby Put your love to the test
Cavadour 2,392
Rez has won. Ally is trapped. She has no choice anymore. Jack is (too far) gone. I Will Never Love Again is their last song together. She's left alone to sing it now in front of an invisible audience. A star is born to shine in the bitter shallow... Cruel and perfect slap in the face ending. Late to the party but I got a diamond heart

LordEnigma 11,313
I feel like the whole movie was a blur at times and he reflected how Jack would see his life. Everything changed so fast and then it slowed down a lot and was 100% clear right after rehab and then his death came so fast because of his built up trauma. It was just wow
NathanC 938
Rafi represents the music industry... shallow vapid music won... he even warns Jack that he won't let him act the same way again... Am i reading too much into it?

zakariah 11,721
might be an unpopular opinion but I absolutely loathed the decision to cut to Jackson singing INLA instead of just Ally continuing to sing the entire song while flashbacks of their love / intimate moments cut in & out during the performance. for me, I connect best emotionally to the music so that abrupt cut really ruined the ending for me
dit 46,482
Generally speaking the weakest point in the film is the pacing. It was avery clear weak point so I have to agree with you on that. Overall the film was top notch and the acting was outstanding but like you said some scenes felt underdeveloped and just rushed.
joannesrats 26
I think the ending was perfect. We have to remember that she is a star at the end of the movie, she would be expected to pay tribute to her husband somehow.
Mirages 20,259
While we at it, anyone wanna tell me what twist she talked about in the interview for Beats 1. Like did I not get the ending or something? I'm the bitch that's fragile
