Is LG6 still coming in 2018?

Some people still believe LG6 is coming in 2018.  December 28th 2018 (Enigma's opening night) to be exact.

 

Questions:

1. How is she gonna find the time to finish recording LG6, tweak and master it, do photo-shoots for the album cover/booklet and magazines, release its lead single, promote its lead single, film a video for its lead single and promote the album's release in radio and tv interviews etc all the while rehearsing for Vegas?  And I very much doubt she'll pull a Beyoncé and do zero promo - that's not Gaga's style.

 

2. Why would she release LG6 just days after Christmas when retail sales are notoriously dead?  Even Beyoncé had the sense to release her 2013 album before Christmas to catch them Xmas sales.  Releasing 3 days post-Xmas and no promo?  She and her label (aka the people actually in control of when the album is released) would have to be insane.

 

The truth of the matter likely is, Gaga's is not going to do anything to distract from the focus and hype surrounding ASIB.  LG6 is an important project for her (heralded by many to be her return to form).  It's my belief that everything she's done post-ARTPOP has been in preparation for LG6 - all to make the GP fall back in love with her.  I'm sure she's not gonna want the ASIB hype to take a shred of focus away from LG6.  She'll want LG6 to shine its brightest.

 

She's also not going to want distract from ASIB's shine out of respect for Bradley and co-stars... not to mention the award voters from her performance in ASIB.  If she's on tv and radio promoting LG6, there's no way the focus will be completely on her ASIB role.  And as humble as she is about the accolades she's getting for ASIB, I know mommy wants them acting award noms and wins.

 

And btw, Vegas is a "residency" not a tour, meaning she's staying in one spot.  So to those who say "Vegas would be perfect promo for LG6"?  I don't think so.  Think about it.  Enigma is going to be promoted in and around Vegas.  JLo, Céline, Shania, Mariah etc don't go cross country promoting their Vegas shows.  When touring, promotion for the tour is done in each city stop, on radio and perhaps a local tv spot because the majority of ticket buyers will be from that city.  It'll be the same with Enigma.  Yes a handful of stans will fly maybe once to Vegas to see her, but the majority of ticket buyers will be tourists who just happen to be vacationing in Vegas.  So the promo will be mostly based in Vegas.  How can promo based mainly in Vegas, generate the kinda sales the record label wants?  Again, all the label gives a **** about is money and making as much as possible.  They are not going to release LG6 during a time sales are low and without a proper promo run.

 

I'm betting on LG6 coming out after the Oscars.  Look at the Enigma dates.  There's a huge gap of time early in 2019, after the Oscars, where there are no Enigma dates.  Perfect time to release and promote LG6 and after its lead single(s).

 

Let's all be equally excited for ASIB, Enigma, LG6 and C3C but also just be patient and let things roll out at sensible times so these project all get the glow they deserve.

Just because she releases an album doesn't mean she has to do a full, proper album cycle for it  tbh, releasing an EP of new material purely for Enigma seems like the way to go. Then she's got her singles, fan favorites, ASIB tracks, and a few fresh tracks to get her through

Imagine wanting new Gaga music less than 3 months after getting new Gaga music?  Imagine wanting new Gaga music when we've gotten lots of new Gaga music within that past two years (including a brand new studio album, 'The Cure' just last year, a new version of the song 'Joanne' this year, a wonderful studio version of 'Your Song' this year and a new recording of IWYL just last week)?  Imagine being a fan of Sade who releases music every 10 years?  Imagine being a fan of Lauryn Hill who hasn't released a studio album since 1998?   I was just trying to make a point that it's okay to be here for the music and be excited for the next release. You're shutting down a thread for no reason when it's a valid question because clues did point to it releasing in 2018 at one time. I realize it probably won't, but I'd be so happy if it did. Because I like her music. And I like hearing new music.

She could announce a new album this year and possibly release a single or something, but she definitely wouldnt release an album. Maybe some stand-alone singles (like the cure) or an ep would be cool.
