Have you watched the film yet? I know and yeah been to my 3rd viewing this morning
Rio 5,088
32 minutes ago, warrentw said: thats what I was hoping for but at cineworld the only sign of anything ASIB related was the advert for the unlimited card, at showcase cinema there was huge 3d cardboard billboard for both small foot and venom. The odeon had a small poster but also had about 10 venom posters. This is down to Warner not paying up with the promotion. These other films clearly have a larger advertising budget behind them. They need it because A Star Is Born is the Oscar front-runner and is predicted to have “legs”. And to be honest, it seems Warner have put most of their advertising budget in to online adverts. I see plenty of ‘Sponsored Posts’ on Facebook about ASIB, I see the trailer on Youtube & Snapchat adverts daily. But I never see Small Foot ones and rarely see Venom online adverts. Venom is all over cinemas and buses though. The two studios both have their own budget (Venom’s being larger clearly) and have targeted the advertising in different ways. tezbear91 745
Yeah I check the VUE near me and they were only playing it at 2.45 in the afternoon on a Thursday. And no other dates seeing the movie in a larger town on Friday at 9 so really excited for that 😁 battle for your life.

I used to work for Vue and shady stuff like this happened all the time in Sony's favour
Harry 26,836
I noticed this earlier today. I think the one at Westfield is screening it but none others. Its a shame because my local Vue has waaaay better sound than my local Cineworld. So even though I have an Unlimited Cineworld card I planned to go and see it at Vue at least once. Dominic 11,922
I checked mine on Monday and it wasn't showing either. I hate going Cineworld because it's like a hole in the ground but if thats where I need to go, so be it The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

Dawson 9,485
The T is Warner Brothers want more share of profits of the film than Vue are willing to give away so a contract to show the film has yet to be signed

Depends on area I guess I'm in London nd the billboards in my area have already been covered with Johnny English But stops and buses still have it
Karl 3,374
This is awful, the VUE in Manchester city centre is the main cinema and its not showing it at all, the Odeon in Manchester smells like B.O and pee no one goes there.
SlaeUrAnus 15,946
Tbf, I have seen a massive billboard and many bus stop posters for ASIB in Newcastle. Vue Cinemas is probably the least favourite cinema up here too, with ODEON, Empire Cinemas & Cineworld being the most popular, and they are showing ASIB. In my messy era. oheyitso 2,784
They've now updated what they're telling people : "Hey, we are working very hard to try and bring you A Star Is Born. We are still in discussions with the studio and apologise to all of our customers who were looking forward to seeing the film at Vue. Keep an eye out for further updates" I really hope they get this sorted soon as it could really damage how popular the film is in the UK, even without Vue it's doing amazingly, with Vue it'll be enormous. StrawberryBlond 14,770
Yeah, my friend lives up north and Vue is the only cinema in his entire city and the nearest place showing it requires a train journey, so he's travelling down to see it with me tomorrow figuring if he's going to travel, he may as well go the extra mile to see it with a friend. So sweet. But yeah, this is some really odd goings-on. The premiere was at a Vue in London. It doesn't make sense how it's the only UK cinema chain not showing it at the same time as everyone else. But I have to say, is Vue really the main cinema to a lot of British cities? There's only one in the whole of Glasgow and that's the biggest city in Scotland. I've been to basically every other cinema chain in my country but I believe I've only been to a Vue twice in my life and it's when I was travelling to lesser populated areas. I wonder, is it more of a chain that focuses on smaller areas? 7 hours ago, Karl said: This is awful, the VUE in Manchester city centre is the main cinema and its not showing it at all, the Odeon in Manchester smells like B.O and pee no one goes there. This comment just really made me laugh! My local is the same, partly because it's so old, although people actually go to that one. I remember my mum once asked why I don't like to go to this one and I said "It stinks, literally."
