That "haute couture" you are talking about cost the lives of thousand of inoccent animals who die in the worst possible way. Um people are killed every day. Many in more gruesome ways then these animals... There is slavery, war crimes, human trafficking etc, even in the US There are more important human issues, especially regarding our species and even Earth in general than worrying about fur... Whoop dee do. i don't hunt animals, you don't hunt animals. you couldn't kill another animal with your own hands, except in special circumstances where push comes to shove and it's life or death, and i bet even then you'd have difficulty. in fact growing animals in factory and eating them involves no "hunting" or fair chase. if you're truly interested in being educated, watch some documentaries about animal rights on youtube. the peter singer interview i posted is valuable. If you eat meat, shut the hell up about how unjust fur is. if you don't care about fur to begin with because "there are more important human issues" (which you are undoubtedly doing zero about yourself), to use your words, shut the hell up about telling us what is just or what isn't. also note that some of us are vegan and you're still shooting us down. Because we're highly evolved enough to understand how nervous systems work and to know that mammals feel pain, and so we shouldn't unnecessarily cause it in any animal? Is this even a serious question? I mean, as I admitted earlier in the thread, I'm no saint when it comes to such things, but the idea that people can't even understand why some people would be "butthurt" or would at least be willing to question this and investigate it is bizarre. And the whole there are worse things argument is so weak. Are their worse things? Yes. Does that fact suddenly make not-as-bad bad things not bad at all? No. We can still work to fix them. Even though this isn't the proper thread to discuss animal rights, I will say one thing. All animals (including humans) have a heart, brain, and central nervous system. You could argue they don't understand whats happening to them, but you can not argue the physical pain of living your whole life in a tiny ****-ridden cell only to be skinned alive as the grand finale. If animals (again, including humans) are categorized as "lessor" because they can't reason, or "think" like we do, then why isn't it okay to skin your pet dog, cat, someone who is severely handicapped or a "vegetable"? Its gross of me to suggest the skinning of people, but when you drop it down to such a basic level, all of those things would feel the same pain of being tortured equally. Just something to think about. If you're genuinely curious about the ethics of Animal Rights, I highly recommend "Animal Rights" by Peter Singer. It addresses many issues like this. Its a good read, it'll make you think. Feel free to start a new thread discussing animal rights and or the fur trade. I don't think I've seen anybody say they "hate" her now. Hating and not being a fan of are pretty distinct things. I've only seen people say the latter. And even then, only a very few.
