Obviously he's a pig, but they could have been laughing at anything on that table. Maybe Cate just said to him 'I think it's time the women of Hollywood banded together to eradicate sexism and sexual harassment in Hollywood,' and that's why he cracked up.

I think a lot of people didn’t take Gaga’s win then seriously. She wasn’t even nominated for an Emmy. I’m so happy for how things are turning out though.

Well this man fooled a lot of people. Gaga wasn’t close so she probably just thought of him like everyone else, a powerful man in the industry.
