Bradley 59,023
I'm talking about Best Song Written for Visual Media. Would it be considered a fraud that you stand a chance at winning in two consecutive years for materials made for a SINGLE film? Shallow is eligible for 2019 Grammys since it's released before the deadline, which means they could submit I'll Never Love Again next year. Alternatively they could submit both songs next year, which is a possibility. However I don't think the Grammys are as generous as the Oscars in warranting two nominations for Gaga in a single category. Although Fifty Shades of Grey did have two nominations in 2016, Love Me Like You Do and Earned It are from two different artists. I've never seen an artist be nominated twice under one single category at the Grammys, unlike the Oscars.

BenG 19,908
Shallow will not be eligible for the Best Song Written for Visual Media category in 2019, as the album is released after the deadline. There are, however, no restrictions on other categories, such as the General Field.

Not both. “So long as it was not submitted in any category in the current year”. This doesn’t say it can’t be submitted, just can’t both years. It says it is eligible next year IF it is NOT submitted in the current year, which means if the artists have the freedom of choosing to submit either this year or next year.
