Guest Blue Madonna
Now this isn't an opinion it's a fact I just couldn't find a more fitting tag So I had my school dance a couple of nights ago and it was a disaster The organisers decided that they trusted two people enough to give them full control over the music played One of these people was great! She had classic pop like Rihanna, Gaga, Katy and Beyoncé, she had current hits, she had iconically bad memes such as Despacito for the lols , she had a few hip-hop songs for fans of hip-hop and even a couple of K-pop songs But... the other person in charge decided to totally delete this awesome playlist instead and play sh*tty trap music the entire time. For the first half, it was all dumb mumble rap that like 10 people knew and I kid you not there were way more people outside than inside the venue, and about five people dancing The peak of this part of the dance was when they played 'Bad and Boujee' but that was only because everyone had caught onto the chorus before the end of the song and were all shamefully mumbling 'she a thot thot thot' But then one of the organisers intervened. They recognised it was flopping harder than Witness and managed to get the other girl to take charge of the music for the rest of the formal. The first song played was 7/11, which got the party more or less started again (i.e. I heard from outside that Beyoncé was playing and literally sprinted in, grabbed the first person I saw and broke out into the chorus), it got a little better with Take On Me but it really became what it was meant to be with Poker Face. As soon as those opening synths came on my entire friend group started dancing like no-one was watching and so did the rest of the year! It took until after the first chorus but even the obnoxious straight guys who frequently use 'f*ggot' and the like were proudly singing the chorus by the end. And I was the only one who knew the 'I won't tell you that I love you kiss or hug you cause I'm bluffing' bit The entire room was lit up with singing and dancing and it finally felt like a proper school dance. Queen Gaga had saved us! I was fully shook tbh cos I haven't heard her on the radio for literally two years (apart from a week ago when I somehow heard TEOG and Just Dance on the same day ) NZ does not stan post-BTW Gaga After Poker Face, we were all hyped again and the night then peaked at Party In The U.S.A and Toxic Homophobia lost! The gays won! Gaga triumphs again! Now I need next years' slow dance to be to an ASIB track
